Daniel wandered around the apartment looking at the man's life. Where would he put something important The man obviously had some reason to this rhyme. The place was cluttered but clean. It was a mess but organized. Being careful not to touch anything that would leave a finger print (or worse, blood), Daniel casually looked not only for things but examined what kind of things were where.

In the kitchen there were only photographs. They were magneted to the fridge and stuck onto the cabinets with tac. Daniel didn't notice any theme at first but then he realized they all were taken within a park. Maybe even from a single bench. A white monument appeared in the background of many of the photos. On the fridge it was winter with bare trees and figures bundled in layers. By oven it was Summer with bright sun and sandals on feet.

The west wall was dark and had a cabinet of art supplies. Most people captured in paint here were eerie. There was a shrieking woman with hair floating as if in water. The goblin man with long fingers was here. A woman in a shawl sat at a bus stop watching children frolic in a playground across the street. You couldn't see her face but one clawed hand rested on her lap.

In the center of the room were unfinished sketches. Most had been discarded early. Some appeared to be drafts of later pictures. One was a basic figure hanging from a building's emergency ladder. It looked like this was where the artistic process began. Or perhaps where it it was left to die till inspiration resurrected it.

Moving into the more intimate space of the sleeping area, Daniel found a bed mattress without a frame. Despite the connotations such a bed had of poverty, it was in good condition and well made. Which was more than Daniel could say of the bed he had gotten out of this morning. As he explored he didn't notice too much. There was a shadow man in a vicar's collar, a girl serving drinks and smiling menacingly to show what big teeth she had, a man in ancient armor over a business suit, and many more. The only real thing of note Daniel could find was the corner of the room near the bed's nightstand. All the paintings and pictures in that corner had the changelings all looking straight at the viewer. The kind of picture where no matter where you move, they are always watching you.

She stays very still as Daniel approaches, and raises his hand to touch her. She stays very still as his hand withdraws. She looks about for a moment, "Hmm," she hums. "Not seeing our dead-guy yet," she glances at the others, "I'm gonna check the bedroom. Maybe it's in a drawer or a jewelery box or something." With that, she turns and slowly walks towards a door, picking the one that seems most likely to lead to a bedroom.

The mention of burning sage as incense made Thao scratch his chin as he took note of each Changeling's efforts to find the necklace. Sage...Ah'm pretty sure Ah've read somethin' 'bout that plant somewhere in those books Ah bought from Marginalia last year. Hmm...The Wizened spoke up and put forward the most leadership he could muster. "Malc-colm's right. Let's t-try t' g-get every p-part o' this searched, b-before someone c-comes lookin' fer us. T-tell Ramona as soon as you find somethin'."

Whoo. Good hustle. Totally taking charge, Doc.

Thao followed Ramona into the bedroom and decided to put his two cents into the matter of her sage and salt question. "Ah've read that sage's used in a lot o' house c-cleansin' ceremonies, b-burnt fer incense t' exorcise ghosts an' remove negat-tive energy. It m-might help d-deal with anythin' lingerin' here. B-but you m-might end up b-burnin' th' p-place down iffen yer not c-careful" Thao listlessly meandered along the walls in his search for the necklace. His inner rationalist rebelled against the idea that something from beyond the grave was going to pop out of a closet and say boo or throw around cutlery a la Poltergiest. But Arcadia had left his mind uncomfortably open to the supernatural.

In the midst of his ruminations on the limits of reality, something caught Thao's eye.

After a while of searching a midst the carnage, Thao manages to find a small locket that hangs on a delicate chain. The locket was a fine silver, lined with a ring of blue. It was a wealthy piece of jewlery well beyond the price point of the artist in question. Alongside it however Thao, also notices a simple gold band wedding ring which has been worn down over time and wear...but obviously was not on the Artist when he died.

He quickly gets the attention of everyone else in the room and shows them what he found. The other changelings might notice a slight change in the wizened's demeanor and mannerisms as he dangles the locket for their inspection.

Everyone needs to roll Perception. Danger Sense applies.

Whilst fumbling about Morgan recalled a few things about the herbs she carried. Burning white sage was part of several purification rituals, salt lines stopped evil, and garlic repels undead. The last was dubious but she was sure about the salt. No-help, not enough salt, no-nope. Maybe throw at it? Sage no ritual, burning might hel--fire alarms-no-no. Throw powders at it? Garlic too? Bane to undead avoids damage red--that's game rules stupid! She winced at her foolishness, then noticed Thao. As she rose she decided that tossing everything was the best bet.

Walking quietly, Morgan was impressed by the locket in question though confused by the ring. Why were both there? Were they supposed to grab both or just the locket? "Uh-heh, Ramona? A-are we-supposed grab-everything or-or just-locket? I-heh think less taken the better truly-honest."

Her eyes roamed the room as she spoke. True, she coudln't see the ghost. Yet, if the ghost was like in the movies then they liked throwing things. It took her a moment to not something else, 'Uh, T-Thao? You 'kay?'

Daniel moves towards Thao when he announces he's found something. The locket looked like what they were looking for and a ring besides. A wedding band? Why hadn't he been wearing it? Maybe philandering. And how did he come by a locket of such value?

At Morgan's words, he looked up from what the doctor held. There was something off.

Ngoc's posture had changed subtly.

Shit. I really hope he just gained some confidence in success.

"Ngoc? You should probably put those things down for now. We still need to find the artist," Daniel worked to speak as calmly as possible.
