Recon Meeting at Cedar Fields

[Emma French]

Emma set up one of the meeting rooms with her laptop and projector. She had scanned the images that Martha had shown her of the Marina. She had note pads out in case others needed to take notes. Once this was setup she went upstairs to wait for the team.


When they arrive they will see many garden areas with rocks, trees, and benches. A few months and the flowers will come back in to brighten up each of the yard. The front room shined with light colored wood and glass shelves full of urns, flowers and other funeral wares.

Michael follows Emma closely in his rental. He still has his vest on under the leather coat. He has athletic shoes on his feet and there are leather gloves in the pockets of the coat. The car houses lockpicking equipment, a flashlight, some batteries and a first-aid kit in the trunk.

The Ranger looks curiously around, noting how clean and in-order everything is. Before sitting down he addresses Emma in a quiet voice, making sure that no one else can hear:

"Quite a set-up you've got here, Emma. Glad to see that you're successful, we should probably ask Dillon for a Clan meeting soon - get to know the new faces, show them the ropes".

[Cryotic]

A few moments later and Daniel would enter into the office, apparently the first of the marina group to arrive, present company excluded of course. Since Emma and Michael were having their own conversation Daniel simply took an empty seat near the wall and awaited the arrival of the other kindred who'd volunteered for the recon team.

Emma speaks in a low tone, "We really do need a meeting soon." There were a few things she needed to address. Seeing Daniel come in Emma said, "Please come join us." Emma gives a friendly smile. She likes people to be prompt. She glances quickly at Redfill.

Michael simply nods to her answer:

"So, anything we can go over before Callum and Daniel get here?"

[Cryotic]

Probably not much was just about right.

Especially since Mr.Daniel Whitfield was already in the room and sitting down when Mr.Redfill's question was posed. Granted, being a Mekhet meant that being unnoticed was generally a good thing, so Daniel neglected to make a comment on that little point.

That and Daniel liked to believe he wasn't that much of an ass about most things.

Regardless, Daniel would nod as Callum entered the room, his grip on the chair's armrest tightening slightly as he reined in his more... beastial intentions. "'Evening." He said after a moment, offering a hand for the deputy to shake. "Is there such a thing as being too fashionably late?" the Carthian asked, a bit of humorous sarcasm in his tone.

Leaning slightly more towards sarcasm than humor of course.

Emma decided to get started. She pulled out the aerial view of the marina as well as the general map. She would give them the notes exactly as Martha had presented them to her.



"This is Miller Park Marina based in the harbour on the Sacramento River. It's the largest civilian marina along the Sacramento River and the whole facility covers 57 acres with 475 berths. Many of these berths have rain coverings...as you can see from the aerial photograph..." Emma pointed to the aerial photo and then handed it around.

"There are regular security patrols of the perimeter; but there are long periods between the patrols. The intel I have is they appear to be mostly a show of power rather than actual guarding." Emma paused a moment. “Oh, I was also told there are some fuel dumps and that may cause issues, so we need to be aware. The Marina is accessible from US-50, I-80 and the I-5." Emma points to the map.

"There was a report that a motor launch 'Rendezvous' was seen entering the waterway making towards the Marina. Its crew seemed overly vigilant. Martha is worried that they may be up to something we should know about. The vessel is moored at berth B-37 in the North Basin. The vessel has a crew of 5 to 10. That is one point we need to try and verify. If we can determine what they are doing here that would be very helpful. With the missing kindred and several killed we need to watch for any new potential problems." Emma looked around the table. She stood up to pace as she finished.

“Martha mentioned that this may be a criminal enterprise. Possibly connected to the Los Zetas crime syndicate in Mexico. The Los Zetas has the necessary military and special forces training, capability and assets available to have carried out an assault like that at Arden-Arcade. Questions? Comments? Suggestions? I’m not trained at tactical sneaky stuff and would love help with that. I am highly organized and pretty good at fighting.” Emma smiled brightly at Cal who knew some of her skills.

Daniel , Sabeleth , Psychangel , let's do a headcount and reanimate this, shall we?

Emma looked around the table. "Questions? Suggestions? Want to tell me to go shit in my hat?" Emma stifled a giggle and arched an eyebrow in an attempt to look quizzical.
