(1312) Coronation of Winter

Nodding absently to Green, Marcus is definitely distracted. First he is pulled away by the Spring Queen's enchanting performance and then by a smile directed at him by the sophisticated art dealer he had met at the Fallen Fair. Downing the remnants of his scotch, the elemental places his empty glass on the bar and gestures for another, as well as a refill for his remaining drinking companion. Gesturing toward the knot of ladies chatting with Jason, Marcus smirks as he cocks his head in their direction.

"It appears my Crimson Brother is outnumbered and in of backup. Shall we?"

Marcus joins this conversation.

Marcus slaps a firm hand on Jason's shoulder and gives it a brief squeeze before releasing it. Raising his glass to the women present, he smiles and nods at each of them.

"Alright, ladies? I hope I'm not intruding."

The elemental holds a glass of scotch in one hand and clutches a metallic-colored bag in the other. His steely gaze focuses on Aaren as he continues.

"Nice to see you again. I hope you're getting settled into your new home."

Marcus swirls the ice in his drink as he looks around the jazz club for any sign that the Summer King is in attendance. Previous Wrathful Lords had usually assigned Court Titles at either the height of Summer or the depth of Winter and the former Hunter of the Longest Day was eager to officially resume his responsibilities if the darkling monarch would have him.

Morgan's only response is a noncommittal grunt. Despite Ramona's best efforts to divert her attention away from the several gloriously, enviably, desirably dressed-up and gorgeous women that seem abundant in the small jazz club, the Winter Queen once again captures her gaze as she makes her welcoming statement. Its not that there weren't beautiful people in her last Freehold of course, but she was used to them, and met them slowly, one or two at a time. Just dive right in to a new Freehold full of Changelings you've never met. Idiot. You know how Changelings can be. Glorious. Frightening. Quirky. Insane. Gentle. Terrible. Never know what to expect. Sure, just take that total sensory overload all at once, why don't you? She kicks herself while she listens.

When Katrin reaches the part of her speech where she mentions accepting oaths of loyalty, Ramona drains what's left of her hot toddy and thunks it on the table. "That's me," she says to Morgan in explanation, straightening in her chair and getting to her feet. In a moment, Katrin said. So she doesn't hurry. She drifts to one of the walls, leaving her back to it and watching the room, close enough to the Winter Queen's table to be ready for that part of the proceedings. Though this still puts her within conversation range of Morgan.

“She’s new to me, but she reminds me of someone.” he said almost thoughtfully, “Mary if you’d like to come with us I can deposit Lady Neige with her Majesty and we can find other people” he paused, “or things, to occupy our time.”

He raised his pink-clad arms to the two ladies, offering them both an escort at once.

"Hey Tally!" Al-Adin wraps his friend in a huge hug, and then swings her about for a few minutes, before letting her back down.
"We should start planning the spring thing soon! I'm doing good! I'm having fun and doing stuff! But What do you want to do? I don't see you out much! You should have fun!"

[Mary Lee]

Mary clings to Dominyk's offered arm with even more eagerness than she clings to tequila, nodding with a pretense of formality at his plan. "I believe you may have seized upon an excellent course for us to take," she says, apparently trying to distance herself from that valley girl impression from her recent past.

"Oh, no, I just came over to met Al's new friend before grabbing something to eat and to drink." She answers the Queen, assuming she's addressing them as a group.

Tally chuckles as Al swings her about for a few minutes. "Thanks Al." She says with a warm smile before paying attention to the others.

She listens as Al speaks about planning something for Spring, she's unsure if it was to her or to the Queen.

Nevada hesitated at the offered arm, then gestured for Mary and Dom to go ahead. "Lead on, I'll chaperone until you drop me off. Then you two can disappear. Not too long though." It wasn't as dry and sarcastic as Nevada had been trying to sound, an odd note of affection or amusement sneaking in somehow.
