Jack gave tally and Stripes both a curt nod as she pushed her hands under her arms to keep warm.

She glanced over to the beams Al-Adin pointed out before glancing to the group. Climbing through the rubble seemed a bit hazardous and Jack was all for making a Door...any arch way would do right?
"I doubt the wards are still working...so we could make any old door to the hedge " She said all enthusiasm drained from her voice from the chill of the wind.

Marcus returns Jack's smile as the barest trace of mist hangs in the air after the frost usually left by the archer's touch evaporates almost before it forms.
"Looks like we do at that..."
The elemental appreciates the beast's straightforwardness and is likewise ready to get right to the business at hand. He nods in agreement with her as he turns to answer Tally.
"All sorts of things have probably moved in since the wards haven't been maintained. Everyone should be extra careful. We have no idea what we're going to find in there."
Scanning the rubble-strewn area, Marcus looks for the tell-tale signs of an active hedge gate. After all, he really hates opening new ones if he doesn't have to.

Stripes lowers his expectant paw, a bit disappointed his shake was refused. Conversation thankfully turns to finding a way into the old throne room though, as well as what to expect inside...
"Ugh, hope those slave-takers aren't in there..." he says with a barely suppressed growl.
Those hobs had been nasty. Just thinking about them causes the tiger's mantle to flare, the darting shadows moving more frantically although hunting for signs of the masked beings. The growls seem to grow a bit louder as well.
"Least that book they wanted is gone now," Stripes thinks aloud, flexing his claws in and out. "Bet they're not happy about that."

"It would make for an ironic camp for those slavers, given that the Hotel's Hollow was used to celebrate our freedom." Tally comments and she hums as she nods in agreement with the fact that the book is gone.
"So... is there still a gate here or do we need to make our own?" She wonders as she glances over to Marcus, hoping he would have an answer to that question.

Marcus starts walking purposefully towards an alley three streets away.
"There's an active gate down here... I think. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something odd about the way it feels. We should check it out."
The Archer of the Lonely March took pause and sniffed the air to confirm Marcus words.
She pulled her gloves on tight and looked to the others. She was not keen on sticking out here much longer and was more than happy to let the Summer Be first to go in.
"lets do this than, I'll keep an eye behind us" she offered to take up the rear to keep an eye out. Or perhaps to vanish at the first sign of trouble.

"Alright! Let's go!" Al-Adin cheers as he encourages the questing party onward. He heads to the front, because he's a leader-ish guy, and leaders go in front! Still, he keeps his head turning, making sure to keep his eyes open for anyone trying to show up.

Stripes tugs at one of his whiskers as they move toward the gate. It's good they found one, but a thought bugs the Autumn Courtier.
"You said it felt weird?" he asks curiously as they head down. "Weird how? Like it might still be warded or something?"
A quick look around is enough to guess that the wards shouldn't be working... but the Four Seasons was important to the Freehold. Stripes doesn't like to think it, but the idea of accidentally springing some remaining surprise doesn't strike him as fun. No matter how upbeat Al is to be exploring.

As speculation begins to flow around the changelings.
What could it be that was making the hedge gate feel so wyrd? Particularly at such a distance?
But then they got closer to it and that odd suspicion seemed to flow away from their minds, after all it was just a hedge gate, what’s the worst that could happen, honestly?
Reflexive [Wyrd + COM] with a Target success of 4 to not be persuaded that there is no “wyrd” feeling.
As they turn down the alley, the strange brick wall seems almost familiar to Jack, particularly the odd vines that are only on the first few feet from the door.
But they look so Pretty.
And a [RES + COM] with a target of 3 to not be seduced by the prettyness of the vines (and such)
