Tony had been mulling over the meaning of Sagrim-Ur's vision for some time. "How things should be" seemed obvious to the Ithaeur, but how to guide this shitstorm back to the days of Border patrol and discreet resentment with his cousins seemed difficult to say the least. So for now he resolved to draw inspiration from history. He couldn't ask Flame-of-Man or the Crusaders about the Pure, or the relations they had with the Pure or spirits before the attack, but there was one wolf who seemed like he'd know better then most.

Tony made his way into the Tur, wearing his regular attire of a white T-shirt, black leather jacket, dark blue jeans, and black hiking boots. He had mentioned to Jaime ( Cathulhu ) he was going for a crash coarse in past Pure and spirit relations, but he was never the most patient wolf. He cleared his throat to announce his presence and made his way over to Firebringer .

    "Hey, you got a minute?"

While Jamie had never been the brightest bulb in the box, she knew that Firstborn sightings meant that some serious shit was going down, and if serious shit was going down, she wanted to know about it. So, when Tony mentioned the meeting to her, she was happy to tag along, trailing in after her packmate and bowing her head to the elder wolf.

She doubted she'd be making any breakthoughs, but, hey, it wouldn't hurt to learn her history.

Kevin arrives in Dalu as Tony asks Firebringer if he had a minute. He is rather curious what business Tony wished to speak about. He glances towards Jamie, after a moment's thought, he heads over to her, giving her an inquiring look before asking in a low voice, "Mind if I ask what Tony wants to talk about?"

Firebringer turns warily toward Tony, staring at the young wolf for a long moment as if evaluating potential prey. "Speak."

Daniel was resting in Urhan near the Tur when Tony approached their Alpha. Curious he pads a bit closer to hear better, but doesn't shift. For now he's going to listen.

Her eyes flicked to Kevin, before snapping back to Tony and Firebringer. "He wants to know the history of Sacramento's Pure and spirits," she murmured, "It's his hope that understanding the past will help us understand Red Wolf's vision."

A single, audible gulp was the main response to Firebringer's gaze. Tony froze like a deer in headlights until he was finally prompted to speak.

"I was hoping we could talk about a few things. Mostly history. I was wondering if you knew anything about our relations with the Anshega since Flame of Man first took our lands from them. Or if you could tell us more about the Justicars, and why I didn't see them at Swift's trial when my former Alpha called all the Wolves in Sacramento."

"Oh," He says as he turns to Kevin. "and don't go too far. I'd like to ask some questions to you and your old pack as well."

A figure resolved from the shadows at the edge of Tur. Aeneas joined the group. He said little but gave a nod to each of the Uratha by way of greeting. When he sat, he dug a tooth pick from a pocket and worked on the remains of a meal caught on his teeth.

"Huh?" Was all he said and even that sounded more grunt than articulated word.

"Ah, thanks for answering my question." Kevin says to Jamie. As he listens to the questions Tony asks, he nods his head, he hadn't heard much about the Justicars and wonders if maybe Jer would know of them.

"Understood." Is his reply to Tony's request for his presence, not that he was in any hurry to leave. He is also curious to learn more about the past, one that he hasn't gotten a chance to listen to.

He looks around for a nice place to sit that isn't that far from the group. Once seated, he pays close attention to the answers Firebringer gives.

    My apologies for the delay.

Firebringer holds his gaze on Tony a moment longer, before looking off into the distance with a shrug. "They're Anshega. Mostly we fought. Not always, but it was the standard order of the day.

We first found the city in a sorry state. The Hisil was dying, most of the spirits were camped on this side. We learned what had caused it: some ritual carried out by the Pure, involving the near death of a spirit important to the city. We recovered its remains, and gave it a proper burial, restoring the Hisil in the process, but some of the Pure caught wind and attacked. Unsuccessfully, but it was a close thing.

And then we discovered why. Even the Pure don't upset the balance of the land so completely without a reason. For beneath the river slept an Idigam, and the Hisil's stagnation had been the only thing keeping it there. Only the discovery of its Ban saved the city, but exploiting it meant an act nearly unthinkable. For this Moon-banished could be weakened only by a force which included every Auspice -- including no Auspice at all."

The weaver of tales pauses, letting the impact sink in. Finally, he picks back up the thread of the story. "For a single evening, we fought alongside the Anshega as allies. The battle was glorious, and marked the end of a great threat to both our peoples. On that night, a god toppled."

He shakes his head, showing a brief flash of teeth. "But of course no truce between us could truly last long, and you know the rest. As for the Justicars, they tend to be insular. They take care of their own, but with the pack of Predator Kings breathing down their necks, they couldn't often afford to leave their own territory for any but the most pressing of matters."
