After fleeing Sacramento, Jack and Ronnie arrive at Harrah's Casino Hotel in Reno with a little bit of time before dawn - time to get checked into their rooms, and maybe enough time for them to look around the casino a little bit, though that would be cutting it close. Ronnie parks her car in the hotel's parking garage.
Ronnie is not interested in looking around. She feels foggy, and wants to get into the room as soon as possible. She is still frightened, and so tired.
Jack is on the same page as Ronnie. He couldn't be bothered to look around the casino only to drop dead once the sun hit. "C'mon." He said as he gestured towards the lobby and reception. At least, he thinks that leads to the lobby and reception. So buggered...
The Harrah's Reno lobby is tastefully decorated, with different golden shades being the predominant color theme. Even at this odd hour, the lobby is fairly busy, with people coming and going, the ding of elevators arriving. The desk clerk's greeting is almost painfully cheery, given all Jack and Ronnie have been through.
"Welcome to Harrah's Reno," she says, smiling. "My name is Natalie. How may I help you?"
"Absolutely," Natalie says. "We will note this for the cleaning staff, but please also use the "do not disturb" signs as an extra precaution. Under what name is your reservation?"
Ronnie trudged behind Jack, took the elevator to the room, and put out the Do Not Disturb sign before she locked the door. She took the desk chair and wedged it under the door as well.
Will we be safe from the sun here? she asked sleepily.
