Lilly cleared the paintings off her kitchen table and dropped them onto the couch, then quickly rushed back to the kitchen to mash potatoes. It was a bit silly making a turkey dinner, Or would seem so. But Lilly was inviting her equally voracious sister and had told her to bring anyone that she should meet. Thus, the main concern for Lilly was that the twenty pound turkey in the oven wouldn't be enough.

But the cooking was going pretty decent. Nothing had burned yet, and the squash and stuffing were done, and the turkey was cooling done so she could strip the meat from the skeleton. The Asparagus had just started sauteing in garlic and butter, being the quickest thing to cook.

She took the blender to the boiled potatoes, mashing them into a creamy texture with some yummy pieces of skin mixed in. Then she started on the Turkey... She was really tempted to snag a couple pieces as she prepped the meat, but her concern about there being enough for everyone stayed her mouth.

Hopefully Elaine and Guest would show up soon.

Elaine arrives at her sister's apartment with her best friend Sam, unsure where the hell Jim had disappeared to. Regardless, she was about to introduce her two favorite people in the world to one another, and she hoped their meeting was going to go well. Hope and prayers left questions unanswered, however, so she went ahead and knocked on the door. She hoped her freshly washed "nice" workout clothes were adequate for her sister's impromptu holiday. The red and white stripes on her shirt were clean right now, at least.

Once the door is opened, she exclaims, "Hey Lil! How's it going? This is Samantha."

Samantha walked in behind elaine, a 'stylish' blue scarf around her neck and across her bare shoulders, She carried a backpack in one hand. She wore jeans and combat boots and a black racer back tanktop. Her blond hair was cut in a short bob and she seemed tired for all of two seconds before the Scent of the turkey hit her.

"DAMN that smells good." she blinked at the smaller Ganz. "Hello, I'm Samantha Howe. Sam." she said as she shut the door behind her.

Lilly quickly wiped off her hands as she went to the Door and opened it. "LAINEY!" She swooped in and hugged Elaine quickly, then stepped back to let the two women in. "Hi Sam! It's good to meet you. Uh- I'd say go ahead and make yourself comfortable but you might need to move some of the pictures to do so. You can go ahead and try some of the Turkey if you want? I need to get back to the Asparagus though, so-!" She darted back to the kitchen to stir the long green sticks of buttery garlic-y goodness so that it wouldn't get burnt.

The sudden burst of excitement from the cook actually surprised Sam for a half moment. But then it could have just been the slew of words neatly strung together as they jumbled around in her hunger-fueled brain.

“Omega...” The word managed out fast and low, but it seemed to fit the girl.

“So, Elaine when were you going to tell me you had a Wolf for a sister?” The journalist asked as she plopped the backpack into a chair and began to work on clearing the table.

"Right after I found out about it, myself. I didn't know until she showed up in Sacramento, honestly. Though her weight loss bodes ill for her cooking," Elaine replies, hoping her finishing jab wouldn't hurt lil' Lilly's feelings.

"But it smells fabulous. I personally think I can hold off until everything is ready before we begin, but don't feel pressured to resist, Sam. And yeah, that word comes to mind for me as well. Which means we three need to think about long term planning, doesn't it?"

Looking around the apartment, Elaine begins to carefully make sure their dining area would be clear of paintings, each escorted with great respect to a safe resting place.

Lilly blushed at Sam's quick and low declaration. Well, she wasn't actually sure she heard it right, so she planned to keep quiet. At least until Elaine's jab made her Pout. "Ooorr, maybe I'm just so awesome a cook my pack back in Richmond kept eating it all on me." Okay, she hadn't cooked that often, but her weight loss had nothing to do with her cooking. "I'll let you two decided on that."


She clicked off the burner and went back to cleaning the Turkey. Well, Conversation was moving on... "I don't have any serving dishes, so if you could put some of those pot-placemat thingies down -" She pulled out a drawer, which indeed held several woven reed circles meant to keep the pots from burning the table. "That'd be good. Planning would be good too."

Samantha raised an eyebrow at Elaine. “Oh, well if the case is that other people eat over her...” The Elodoth found the woven circles on the table. “Anything else that needs to be done?”

Before approaching Elaine, Daniel had thought quite a bit about what pack he should try to join. Perhaps, more than he should have.

He respected Firebringer and like him on a personal level, but there were some serious doubts about whether he'd be any use in his group. With such an Alpha he would probably end up playing a very minor role again, and if things went south, he'd have practically no power to change anything.

The pack where he'd probably be able to do most good was unfortunately also the one where he thought he'd run into most problems with belonging.

Well, first do, then see.

So he got some decent clothes and came to the address which Elaine had given him. And knocked on the door.

"Hi, it's Daniel, anyone home?"

Elaine turned to Lilly, remarking, "And there's that guy I mentioned to you on the phone. Shall I let him in?"

Sincerely hoping there was not a belated yell of 'no' from her sister, she went ahead and headed over to the door to open it up. The indomitable bruiser greets her guest with a, "Hey, how ya been? If the lady of the house doesn't object, you should come in."

In the event that Lil did reject him, she keeps her hand on the door for a last minute interception. But he sort of had a cute nose, so she'd rather not have to break it. At least, not in so boring a manner.

"You might not get much turkey, though."
