Unsure of what laid beyond, and of his waning strength, Miach didn't feel like he could really rely on it to break through the door. Perhaps with a little Supernal nudge, though... After a long breath, and a silent prayer, he set to it. Whispering words of Truth, he put his hand near the latch, and willed it weak, and brittle. After that, he would have to hope that the radio would see him through. And out ?

A well sounded thud can be heard but it's impossible to tell if the door is still locked or not by just looking at it but it did have an odd sound when he hit it with the radio. And that's nothing to the sound of pops that seem to be continuing from the other side of the door.

The sound coming from the door seemed to resound in the darkness Miach was surrounded with. Lacking - yet again - any way to know what was beyond the door without opening it first, the Acanthus resolved to try and push it. Putting the palm of his hand near the doorknob, he pushed it weakly, an inch at most. He was ready to spring back at a moment's notice depending on what he would be able to perceive on the other side.

From the other side of the door there are the pops of gunfire, but for some reason there seems to be some give to the door. It's still shut but it doesn't feel locked....

Gunfire... the sound was now unmistakable, and froze the Acanthus. His ear throbbed badly, and he recoiled into the darkness, crouching into a comforting foetal position for a second. Recovering his composure enough to realize what was happening - a diversion - he intellectually knew this was his chance. If he didn't grab it, he would be as good as dead, perhaps even worse. Even though he knew it for a fact, his instinct was screaming at him to flee from the sound, which meant back into the comfort of the darkness, toward...
Miach was still crouched, and shook his head, pumping his fists a few times to give him confidence. After he had braced himself enough, he went back to the door. From the sensation he had had, he thought something was blocking the door, but that it was no lock. Some furniture, most likely. Still crouched, the tall man started leaning progressively more heavily on the door until he could satisfactorily peer through an opening, and gauge the situation.
A secret hope had started forming in his heart, that the cellar he came from was on ground level, and that he would just have to jump through the closest window and rush the hell out of here...

As Miach leans on the door he realizes that the reason it isn’t opening is because he hasn’t turned the knob or tried to open it in any way whatsoever.

It was one of those times when you realize you're in shock. Something as normal as turning the knob hadn't even occured to Miach, and he would have felt completely dumb, had he not felt numb instead. Still crouched, his hand shaking, he reached for the knob, and started turning to be able to peek beyond the door. If he was only half as jumpy as he felt, he truely must be a mess.

The door swings inward not outward oddly enough, but through the barest crack Miach can see Kiko.

Drawing the door toward him, Miach's line of sight increased by an inch, but it was an inch full of hope because he could see Kiko through it ! Was it his mind playing tricks, another trap by his abducters, or real help ? Or was she fighting here for her life too ? The gunshots...
The coward Acanthus half-considered letting her pass, and enter the corridor alone later, but he was so tired he didn't think he could go on much longer. Praying that Menwel was watching over him from above, he joined the friendly Awakened.
