The Reeve's office is filled with the soft sounds of Boston, this evening. Dillon doesn't play the music loudly, because the door is open. A silent invitation to whomever is in the area that decides they would like a word with him.

He isn't sitting behind the large, dark-stained oak desk at the moment, but in one of a pair of squashy dark leather couches that face each other. Dillon's tastes aren't particularly refined, but they are old-fashioned sometimes. Feet clad in dress boots are propped on a black coffee table, while he quietly reads a novel. Thunderhead, by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.

Dillon is only about a quarter of his way through it, and seems to be marking references for further interest or research; a much-used notebook sits on the cushion beside him. Though he is completely focused on what he is doing, he can be heard quietly humming along with the music. Even subconsciously making the words with his lips.

Tonight, he he is not dressed for Court. There is only a simple long sleeved brown shirt and jeans. Said sleeves are rolled casually to the thick part of his forearm. Very casual, for him. Especially in the Avalon underground. Either he has something else planned for later, or had simply been hunting somewhere that required a more muted appearance. He might be simply an average Joe with nothing to better to do with his time.

But the Gangrel's Beast eliminates any doubt to the nature of the predator. It is bored, and anxious. Pacing around Dillon's psyche, ever growling with all three voices, dripping strings of hot saliva that hiss on the red coals at its feet. It isn't terribly hard for Dillon to picture the thing striding in slow, deliberate circles around the perimeter of the couches.

In fact, picturing it in this way helps him separate the hellhound from his thoughts to some degree.

    And most importantly, ignore it.

His hand is on the leash, but that is it.

In her wish to visit most officials of the Royal Court soon after her return, the Reeve seemed a logic second choice after the Herald, the Seneschal and the Keeper. Since Alice hasn't really been in the mood to wear dresses lately, she arrives wearing simple black leggings and a jacket. She's also used to run and flee a lot due to all the hectic events last months. A tight dress makes that nearly impossible to do.

The sound of Alice's heels announce her arrival. Though they stop just a second before she is able to look inside the Reeve's office. The music is soft but the Daeva can hear it. She stopped because the music made her wonder, a millisecond long, if someone brainwashed Conner Greyson. That surprising moment lasts only until she remembers Martha telling her that Dillon is now Reeve of Sacramento.

    Oh well.

Then the Bacchante suddenly appears in the doorway. Two Beasts meet again. 'Reeve Connery,' the sound of her right heel scraping back on the floor now sounds like "brace yourselves!" so tense, the man has grown stronger, 'Priscus of Gangrel.' Alice's curtsy goes slow, staying in control, but it's still elegantly done.

    'Good evening.'

Seconds later Alice is somewhat calmer and she doesn't mind looking at the new Reeve from top to toe. A friendly smile appears on her face.

    Still devastatingly good looking. Excellent.

Dillon looks up and over from the pages of the book at the words, experiencing familiarity in the voice as much as the Beast that rides on it. A powerful one, which the Reeve hasn't felt in long enough that he must very briefly grip the covers of the novel to channel his control. Thick cords in his forearms dance with the effort.

The serious and pensive expression on his animated face shifts to an absolutely goofy grin.

"Well, Miss Alice Brown!" Slipping one leaf of the book's dust jacket in between the pages where he had them opened to preserve his spot, the Gangrel stands. He drops the thick volume to the coffee table with a dull and muffled thump. As he answers her curtsy with a bow, Dillon adds, "Do come in."

Perhaps he isn't quite as surprised as one might think to see Alice returned. It's not that Martha spoiled the surprise, either. Rather, he might have just heard her bright peal of excitement and silently investigated. It would have been rude to interrupt them, after all.

He holds one hand open and toward the interior of the office, to indicate that she should enter and make herself comfortable. But he doesn't wait for her to move past before he leans in to shut the door. Close proximity to to the beautiful Daeva doesn't bother him in the least.

"I'm going to shut this door, and you're just going to call me Dillon." His smile never truly fades, as usual. "That's an 'order'."

While Alice is normally eager to see what interests others, to get to know them for whatever reason, she has no interest in the thick book at all. No, the Daeva is wildly distracted. She steps inside and follows Dillon with her eyes. What she feels now reminds her of when Dillon just arrived in Sacramento. They had a friendly relationship first, then they grew apart from each other, somehow. It had come to a point where they hardly ever spoke.

Now I'm calling him Dillon, apparently. Something changed in him, or it was a coincidence. Maybe Alice had been socially blind before. Either way is fine.

'Well, then it's good for both of us that I have no problem taking orders... when they come from the right people.' Her smile is on the edge of naughty, but her surprise is still visible on her face.

Once inside, there is really no reason to move further inside the office. 'So Dillon, feel free to call me Alice. Although I'm not sure yet if I'm in any position to give orders.'

The air around the Shark stirs in a determined fury. There is no smile on the Incubi's face tonight, an unusual sight.

Erich is always business, but tonight he is all businesses. He pauses outside the Reeve's closed door, and raises his right hand.

He'd considered calling first, but the need to take some action had become too great.

    He knocked, firm but respectful.

Dr. Swift had been near the Avalon for reasons of his own when the urge to duck in and see if maybe the Reeve might be found arose. He had been meaning to speak to his Priscus for a little while now, but time did seem to have an alarming tendency to simply slip away from him. It was a tendency, he was told, that only increased with the length of one's Requiem. He found the entire concept disturbing.

He checks his cane at the door and makes his way down into the Elysium. As he heads down the corridor toward the Reeve's office he notices two things. One, the door is closed. Two, Mr. Passions is standing outside. If it had just been the first he would have departed and made his way back some other night, but with Mr. Passions there he could at least discover if the other Kindred new where Dillon was. Besides, there was no reason to be rude and to ignore the man.

He nods greeting to the other Kindred even as his beast growls from within. Dr. Swift still found it unsettling how his beast had seemed to gain strength in the past several months, but he was growing used to the reactions even when, as he was in Elysium tonight, he had let the beast's idiotic Aspect of the Predator slip. Besides, he knew Mr. Passions from court and recognized his beast well enough that it was a simple thing to ignore.

"Good evening, Mr. Passions. Is the Reeve in then?"

"Great, then," Dillon says with a lopsided quirk to his smile. "Just like old times.

"It's good to have another familiar face in the Domain."

Dillon's voice is a little quieter when he says that. As though something had been nagging him. Sometimes it feels like the only friend he can count on being around is Martha. Busy, busy little Martha.

A knock at the door interrupts such thoughts, or what insight Alice might give on them.

"Ah," his smile stretches up on one side again. "I'm popular tonight. Let me make sure this isn't something terribly important."

Not knowing that the duo outside hadn't arrived together, Dillon can't help but lift an eyebrow at seeing Erich Fashions and Doctor Quick on his doorstep. Instead of making any predictions as to the nature of their visit, Dillon opens his door all the way, revealing the interior of the office, and Alice Brown still standing within arms' reach.

"Gentleman, good evening. Come in, and make yourselves comfortable."
As he turns to gesture toward the sofas, he shoots Alice an apologetic look. Which probably only incriminates the situation of their proximity even more, but Dillon doesn't care. "Tell me what I can do for you."

'Just like old times, we should drink to that sometime.' Alice chuckles softly, while playfulness almost twinkles in her eyes.

Then there's a knock on the door. When Dillon opens it... the two Kindred might just catch a glimpse of Alice rolling her eyes.

Again she realizes how it feels to be in a position to not being able to do anything, except for being polite.

'Mister Passions, Dr Swift, bonsoir.' Maybe Alice stands there in the doorway a moment too long, but finally she moves to let the two come inside.

Since they are requested to sit at the sofas, the Daeva prefers to lean on the desk. Five fingers tick on the table when they come down. She puts her other hand on her hip.

    This better be interesting.

Erich merely shrugs at the Doctor's question, but before he can voice his answer the door is opened, answering it.

"Reeve Connery, Miss... Harpy... Erich's serious face changes one to surprise, "Cousin Brown soo good to see you!" And just like that as he steps inside, his beast broiling with fear, the serious face returns. The Shark is NOT happy, it wants to leave Right Now. But Erich has urgent business.

"I've recently learned of the cause of Miss Keyes'... indisposed condition from a short while past. With your permission and assistance, I'd like to personally have this despicable creature hunted down and brought to justice." There is a firm set to his jaw, he moves and sits on the sofa, as he was directed, because he was directed, but he sits on the edge, upright and ready to stand back up at any moment.

Dr. Swift gives his Priscus a nod of greeting and returns Ms. Brown's greeting. "Good evening to you both." He almost adds a 'I hope we're not interrupting anything' but one look at the expressions on the faces of the other Kindred makes him wonder if maybe they were. That, and as in respect of the Elysium he did not have any part of his Protean active, he was very much aware that both of them could and likely would kill him, he refrains.

With a nod of thanks he takes a seat on the couch, content to let Mr. Passions speak first. He was here more on a personal inquiry and to give a brief update on the investigation if Dillon wanted it. When Mr. Passions mentions Ms. Keyes he tries not to show too much interest on his face. She was apparently interested in the Crone and if there was any scandal or drama involving her, he felt maybe he should be aware.
