The guitar echoed in Jacks ears as she walked down the street. The sun was starting to set, and she had just gotten off work. Despite the sun setting it wasn't getting any cooler. Summer was around the corner…and that worried the hare.
There was much to be done before the coronation and at this rate the Freehold may not survive the summer. She didn't know the king, but by Jacks book the summer mentality was the wrong attitude for their current situation…they weren't ready for that.
Her trepidation's of the coming summer were only heightened by the disappearance of the winter court. It had been a disappointment when she learned the fate of the winter court after the dragon’s fire. A disappointment as it had thrown her plans to the wind. But she had expected as much after such an event. It was part of their laws and in all honesty she should be just as gone as the queen and Degnar, L’aire and the others.
Yet here she was and yet she was not alone. Green, the giant of a man from St. Patrick day was still in town. It had taken her a bit of time to learn it. She wouldn't admit but she was relieved when she found out.
However with Mr. Bates gone and the Four Season nothing more than dust. It had taken Jack sometime to track Green down. She had made her way to one of the bars that Green had been seen to visit. She paused at the door and pushed it open.
If he is not here I could leave a message. Even for a Mortal he stands out.
Jack pulled the ear buds out and paused her music as she glanced around the dive. If winter was going to be just the two of them for now…best they get to know each other, this town had gotten to small to be strangers any longer.
Now hopefully he was here tonight…
