Walking over to the bar-fridge inside his office, Llewelyn hummed along to the music blasting from the stereo. Work for the day was done, and work was looking up. At this rate, the mortgage on this building will be paid off in only a month or two... He thought to himself, a small, proud smile crossing his face... If only Spartan could see that I finally got my garage off the ground... He let out a slightly sad sigh at his memory, before pulling a six-pack out of the fridge. Times were going to be harder without Spartan and the rest of Summer’s brass, but life had to go onwards. He walked through one of the open garage doors and proceeded to sit down in one of the chairs that were outside, leaning backwards. Popping the lid off a bottle, Llewelyn began sipping contentedly at the beer. The boys that normally hung around outside had gone home and left him to finish the work on their cars, but that could wait until tomorrow. For now, he had the afternoon to relax.

    Green walked.

Green walked because he did not want to be still. He did not want to reflect. He did not want to think. Reflection and thinking would eventually lead him back to the firey conflagration that had upended his life. He had tried dives, but apart from the shots of regret, his problems remained. He dared not go for the bars where the working men and the jocks went to howl and cheer; one false word, one misplaced thump, one challenge directed to the quiet big guy and the mountain just knew he would unleash his pent up elemental fury. Staying at home where the walls of his small apartment would close in on him was no option. Better to pound the streets and brood in solitude. He could, he supposed, have headed for the trod and sought out his Hollow; but under current conditions he doubted such a move was wise. He had no fear, not exactly. He was just being calm and cataloguing variables - and right now a venture into the Hedge alone smacked of recklessness.

So he walked, in ever increasing circles radiating out from his abode. Pounding the streets in an attempt to loose his own dour thoughts. The lazy afternoon wore on him and for a time he dozed, feet pounding, going nowhere, mind closed and still.

He did not expect to find himself stopping just outside a garage at closing time. He did not expect the muffled, urgent, thump of the music to draw him to wakefulness. He did not expect to see one the Lost... yes, another survivor going strong, on from the wreckage and ruination of the Freehold.

"Uh. Hi." Green rumbled quietly. A thread of joy ran through his voice, expressing something his granite face could no longer express.

"Af'ernoon!" Llewelyn exclaimed, his usual cheery grin coming over his face as the Man-mountain greeted him. He'd seen the fellow at a couple of coronations and at a bar one time, but had also heard good things on the fae radio station about his work with an incident at the mall. "Its good to see you are al... Uh, still 'round." Llewelyn added, his grin momentarily faltering slightly. He'd set up extremely close to the trod intentionally, but was suprised to see there was little to no Lost activity going up and down the street since the accident. He'd taken it for granted most Lost had left town or died in the catastrophe. "Got time fo' a col' one?" He asked, motioning with one of his iron-stained hands at the six-pack of beers that sat on the table, condensation slowly rolling down the smooth glass bottles.

    Beer.

    The mountain sees beer.

"Uh. Sure." The mountain is already moving. "Names Green. Seen you round some. Never caught your name."

"I's Llewelyn." He says, offering his hand to the man. It was nice to have company in such uncertain times. "So how yo' doin'? Keepin' on strong?" He asked Mr. Mountain, tossing his bottle-opener over to the man. The answer was an obvious bad - As if it wouldn't be for any pledged freehold member in the area... Still, Llewelyn felt it was his duty as a member of the hold to check in and give everyone any help they may need. It had to be asked, regardless of how awkward it may have been to bring up.

Green caught the bottle opener and gave a loud snort. "Like, yeah? Ah. No. All gone to shit, right? No one knows anything and its all dark." He drank greedily. "I still feel the pledge so all ain't lost, right? So who in charge now? Any ideas?" He moved over to where the wizened was seated, sank slowly to a crouch.

After a rather...unpleasant start of the day Morgan had decided to try "running" a part of town she'd not been to or heard much about. Getting there without roof hopping had been a good way to take her mind off of things. But now, after 20 minutes of having no challenge greater then crossing the street or winding through a crowd she realized this was not a good neighborhood for doing parkour.

Stopping at the corner of some large grey building she decided to call it quits. The sidewalk there gave her the option of taking a left or right. Going right would bring her closer to the Four Seasons and left further away. She started walking down the left sidewalk.

After a couple minutes she ended up at some garage, halting just after passing the corner of said building. She'd just spotted a couple of Lost chatting with each other. She thought she recognized one as Big Lou but wasn't too sure about the other. She might have met him before but wasn't sure when looking at him from behind. The Beast starts to raise a hand to wave hello, but hesitates as her nerves start acting up. What if its private? Be rude to but in if private. Private not outside in open. Really? Yes really. What if they mad at me? What for? I don't know. Why be mad then? Um...what if they do not want to talk to me? Then they won't...maybe?

Thus, the steepscrambler spent a couple minutes just standing at a corner of Big Lou's building. Fidgeting and wearing a worried expression on her face while the two Lost talked. When the other Lost said something that sounded like "in charge now" that snapped the Beast out of her mental debate. That was certainly something worth knowing but she'd need to be closer to hear more.

Moving away from the corner Morgan took a few steps closer and waved hello to the other Lost. If they told her to go away, that was fine and she'd do so.

Green's question gives Llewelyn pause. For what feels like forever, Llewelyn's mind whirs into overdrive. Come to think of it... Who actually is in charge now? He knew for a FACT that he'd seen Spartan get turned into a hunk of charcoal and molten slag, but past that, he didn't know much else. Ms. Byeli, Nutkins and LeBlanc were nowhere to be seen during the crisis - A fact that had driven a splinter of anger deep into Llewelyn's heart. Still, he'd heard some confirmations on the radio of disappearances, so they were down at least two sovereigns.
Finally, after taking a long sip from his beer, he spoke. "Well, I guess in a way... WE are now, well, sort o' in charge o' ourselves. You know, gotta look out fo' eachotha' an' whatnot by our own accord now, but I guess we all jus' gotta stan' up an' do what we think is tha bes' thing. I guess erryone is in tha same boat as you, after tha... Accident... Errythangs gone quiet."
He pauses for a moment on spotting Morgan waving at them.
Morgan made it? Thank god. Llewelyn gives a huge, somewhat excited wave back. It was lovely to see that his twitchy little friend had made it out of the cataclysm alright. She had been there on his first day in town and had watched eachother's backs on an adventure into the hedge. Losing her would likely have affected him greatly. "A'fernoon Morgie! C'arn over!" He calls, motioning with his hand to one of the seats. Maybe I should grab some more beers soon...

Seeing as it was a somewhat decent day, Juno decided to emerge from her apartment for a bit and go further than usual in search of something to eat, her hand clasped around a folded up reusable shopping bag. While convenience store shelves and their limited range of product were acceptable -- somewhat -- to settle hunger pangs they still didn't offer much in the way of nutrition. After a while packaged hot dogs, microwaveable soup and cheap sandwiches combined with vitamin supplements lost their appeal.

Stopping by the studio for a moment, she made sure that the jellies had been fed their live brine shrimp ration (while taking care to not stare at them TOO MUCH or she would spend the rest of the afternoon being fascinated by their oddly soothing movements within their special aquarium) before she continued on her way to the store.

Taking a different route than usual, she found herself passing a garage of some sort, and she paused for a moment as she noticed that there were other Lost about. Bringing her tail in closer to her body, the Manticoress wasn't sure if it was a good idea to approach them. Glancing from one side to the other in order to insure a clear exit in case somebody decided her presence wasn't welcome, Juno slipped closer to the property line, her feline sense of curiosity giving her enough momentary fortitude to stand and be recognized rather than going oh fuck it, they're not going to want me around anyway so keep moving.

They seemed to be talking and having a good time. Juno couldn't remember the last time she really interacted with anyone outside of mando-fun Court Gatherings. Was it something she missed?

Green grunted. "Maybe we should look into that. Someone's got to wear the crowns or that pledge isn't going to hold." And if the Freehold dies, then it really is everyone for themselves... The mountain caught the direction of Lou's gaze and made a simple welcoming gesture to the two Lost he saw passing on the street.

A voice told him that this was not Winter's business, that he should hide (even retreat to his Hollow and wait out the storm); he squashed it with a mental fist. Right now the Freehold had to survive. It didn't mean that it had to do so openly. As long as there was a community to work with, the Freehold would survive. The Freehold was the lost who made it up, not its property and accoutrements.
