Aeneas followed Firebringer's lead, padding carefully along behind and to the right, senses alert. The man was subsumed in the beast; and the beast was rejoicing at the thrill of the hunt. What was being tracked was of no consequence, it was the hunt. And the hunt was all.

Daniel shifts to Dalu to be able to talk properly and walks over to Jeremiah and the others:

Nodding as firebringer shifts course, Elaine brings the back of one paw to her cheek, gently miming the action of crying, to provide a silent clue to the expedition leader. It was close enough that she did not risk speaking, and hoped he was as sharp as she thought he was - and that her gesture was as clear as she'd like it to be.
Her next move, unless she receives any indicator of contrary orders, is to creep forward towards the noise with the utmost caution, assuming the role of vanguard in the trio, but only by a single pace. And her eyes, ears, and nostrils remain receptive to any and all details, taking in everything she possibly can. No need for any extra surprises tonight. She intended to be the surprise for whoever was unfortunate to have worn out their welcome here.
The quiet warrior just kind of stood off to the side watching and listening everyone else do their own thing, talking about spirits and what they're like. It wasn't his forte but he was interested none the less, spirits were a vital part of their lifestyle and it influenced their culture in many, sometimes uncountable ways. Joel didn't have much input into the conversation so he just kept to himself at that point and listened the best he could, perhaps maybe learn a thing or two even.
He was concerned about those that went on the so-called scouting mission, he kept looking in the direction they had gone with some concern, perhaps some itch that he needed to scratch or so it'd seem. He was tense, a litlte uptight even but he tried his best to remain relaxed until the time came for them to act, he was like a fish out of water when he wasn't doing something. He became somewhat restless and fidgetty, scratching behind his ear, chewing on his wolf paws' nails.
Sadly, at the moment, this is all Joel could do and it drove him crazy, he was there to help in any way they needed him to but it seemed as though they didn't need him yet, which was fine but it didn't ease his nerves any less. Talk about hostile territory, the airport's locus, summoning and binding spirits .. it all seemed like casual conversation, necessary to the role that they seemed like they were being put in.
The thoughts going through Joel's mind right now were about the Owl Man, what his intention for them was, it's not that he didn't want to trust the Owl Man or the other wolves, but everyone had their doubts about something. Joel felt kind like they were being used, from one bad situation to another, honestly. The Owl Man had stated the previous tenant was unwanted any longer, had they already been evicted or did the Owl Man use this opportunity to rally the troops to evict his previous tenants because he didn't want them there anymore? It was a good possibility Joel thought to himself. All this thinking was driving him crazy though, overthinking things, he needed to do something ... make weapons, make traps, something, something to help prepare them for the possibilities that lie ahead.
That's why Joel would start to look around for anything of use, metal bars, ropes or wires of some kind, something he could use to fashion a makeshift net or trap of some kind, that's where his mind eventually focused, it was what he was good at after all, preparation was a very important role in Joel's life, he didn't like being surprised or blindly jumping into the unknown although that seemed to be the only thing that they had ever done at the very least he could prepare himself, prepare a trick or two of his own to counter any hostile entitites.

Straining to identify what Elaine had pointed out, Firebringer and Aenease both hear it. The fainest whimper, the weak sounds of an exhausted pup, struggling to hold onto life and loosing the battle.
