So concludes round 3. Hunter 6, Firebringer and Elaine 7. They can see flashes of darkness behind them as the spider seems to be gaining on them. Dogging their steps, hunting them. <<MEAT!>> Is the refrain heard over and over again.

Firebringer charges forward, true fear boiling through his veins as the Azlu closes behind them.

Moments like this made everything so clear: Run, or be eaten by a giant naked spider monster. Elaine could appreciate the simplicity of her part in it all, at least. And appreciate the runners high mixed in with adrenaline, with fear, with hate, and that pure will to do something that only showed up every so often in her life - such as powerful, defining moments. Moments that really should land her an endorsement deal for a running shoe commercial, or something.

Firebringer watches as Elaine bolts ahead of him, her legs pounding across the spiritual dirt and concrete. Elaine can now see all of the wolves who left (Jim, Tony, Daniel, Isaac) and they are 30 seconds of sprinting away. Firebringer can hear the spider chasing him, its further now, but it is still chasing him.
The Rite of Healing has finished.
Chase: Round 5. Elaine 13. Firebringer 11, Hunter 8.

The Cahalith relaxes just a touch as the creature behind him begins to lose ground. Still, he didn't dare stop yet. Not until others could fight alongside him.

Elaine, confident in her lead over the monster, eases up as she moves to the larger group.

Jeremiah lets out a low satisfied growl as the Rite comes to a conclusion.
<<I am in your debt Kevin.>>
The Ghost Wolf rolls his shoulders and takes a quick look around. Himself, Kevin, one of the new Storm Lords...Samantha? That sounds right. Steel.. Nothing happened. No worries, for now.
<<Show time.>> He speaks loud enough for his voice to carry to Samantha as well as Kevin. With that he pushes himself down into Urshul.

Kevin spits out what's in his mouth, a mixture of Jer's blood and his saliva, upon the ground. He wrinkles up his face as he uses the back of his hand to wipe around his mouth. He follows suit, assuming Urshul and barks out, <<Just be careful, you can't under go that Rite until tomorrow.>>

Matthew and Elaine arrive safely with the group of three wolves, and turn to watch the spider barrel towards them.
Hunter of the Sky Wastes has not had good meat in so long. She remembers when she first became an azarath, how she hid in the body of a man for so long, before finally finding the perfect host. He was everything she wanted, strong legs, lots of nourishing fat, and that gorgeous black hair. So she invited him after her, and she moved her hosts body into a friendly, inviting fashion. And when her perfect host fell asleep, she gorged herself on him, fusing them together. It was glorious. And when she fed on the wolf the next day, the one who had been so sure of himself, she couldn't help it. She kept him alive for days while she feasted on wolf flesh. And now new flesh, so much! Two at home, and two more to get. She has chases after the wolves, her mind clouded with the taste of wolf-flesh, and the weak ones run from her. And so she charges forward, headless of the danger that awaits her.
She bursts through the forest and comes to a screeching halt. In front of her is not prey. It is a pack. And they are all looking at her. The hunger evaporates from her mind like fog after a flamethrower, as she sees the forces arrayed against her.
Needless to say, there is a bit of an awkward silence for a moment or two.
And then Hunter of the Sky Wastes turns around and flees.

Firebringer grins viciously as he comes within sight of the other wolves come into view, instantly wheeling to chase his erstwhile pursuer with a simple growl of <<Kill it,>> icy fear suddenly replaced by the thrill of the hunt.
