    ..the priestess then takes the fresh male and female fluids and mixes them with fresh blood of a predatory animal (birds of prey seem to be preferred). Those assisting in the ritual, but not the priestess herself, consume the mixture in an attempt to distribute on the arcane power content of the Kine and the essence of the animal within the mixture throughout their bodies. If successful this allows the Crone to use their own bodies as focusing rods to draw the attention of the entity. The priestess will then make the invocation chant and call on 'Quod oscula Venatrix' to manifest in the material world using the offerings of tar, juice and fish oil.

    Among the Eastern European Crones this is considered a dangerous ritual to preform. If 'Quod oscula Venatrix' or one of her bow bearers appears, they can be extremely reticent to depart from our realm. Participants have had to assist the priestesses in destroying the anifestation of the entity before it could escape the confines of it's summoning circle. More than one Prince has banned the Crone from their domain for the macabre mayhem unleashed on Kine and Kindred alike by a rogue 'Quod oscula Venatrix'.

    As we see in the examples, sexual intercourse can play an important role in Crone practices. This is just as true for the practices of the Ordo. Much derision has been leveled at what is commonly referred to as the 'Daeva Meditations.' Critics of this school of thought often claim that Daeve simply ape common tantric practices and are attempting to dress up their lascivious needs and weak wills with mysticism. To claim this is clannist. It is true that individuals do mask seduction for personal ends with the cloak of tantric
    inspiration. However the twisting of occult knowledge for personal gain is the domain of no single individual, coterie, clan or species.

    To the contrary, there are notable studies regarding the 'Daeva Meditations' that give credence to their claims. Jabulile of Kimberley observed and documented three specific techniques in the later half of the nineteenth century. The most notable discovery was when these meditations were used in conjunction with Fontal Rituals. An example of what Jabulile documented was from the summer of 1879. During the Ritual of the Feast of Blood, three individuals engaged in tantric meditation with the standing vessel. Jabulile noted that the vessels in which copulatory meditation was used, feed more Kindred then when the ceremony was normally conducted. Jabulile found that there was indeed a statical increase in the success the Fontal bounties during specific combinations of rituals and meditations.

    Dr. Wilson Della Porta's survey in Vienna on the matter over a century later reaffirmed Jabulile's findings. Dr. Della Porta went beyond the South African's work and expanded the issue into Kine biology and blood's arcane energy content. As we all remember while we were still Kine, we burned more energy when we were physically exerting ourselves. Della Porta explained the break down of fats, the release of sugars and transmission and consumption of calories. For a Kindred this means the Kine's body is pouring more energy into the blood, invigorating and agitating the arcane energy content we truly hunger for. So when we take Dr. Della Porta's analysis of Kine biology and combined with Jabulilie's observations, we see that the Daeva Meditations are effective when employed in conjunction with Kine.

    This then brings us to the effectiveness of the meditation among Kindred and the criticism of 'costumed sex and seduction.' Obviously the biological component of Della Porta's findings must be removed, as biologically it is not applicable for us. We must look elsewhere, such as the roots of the tantric practices and sexuality in general. Kripal described Kindred reproduction as a sort of metaphysical virus, one that is independent of gender or sexual preference. We also know from Kripal the Beast entity within us does not have an overt sexual component. Rather it has a general desire for violence and mayhem. So sexuality in the Kindred is a construct for and by the Man. This means we must look to Kine to understand and harness it in terms of the Great Work.

    In a quite literal manner, sex is life. Without copulation gendered species cease to exist. The Gnostic and Hermetic wisdom understands this and expand upon it. When two or more copulate it is a return to 'origin' or for a Judeo-Christian audience, 'Eden.' During copulation, two or more individuals physically, emotionally and spiritually join and form a conduit to the unseen and hidden realms. This joining is achievable by Kine, Kindred and conceivably Lycanthropics. This conduit allows those participating in sexual intercourse to briefly touch the higher realms. For Kine in particular, sexual intercourse creates a conduit by which souls are transmitted into the unborn. We suspect that as Lycanthropes are living beings, they also are able to take part in the transmission of souls as well. Obviously Kindred cannot transmit souls into the unborn under normal circumstances. Those Kindred who do attempt to tamper with the Creation Cycle through invocations and summonings, using pregnant Kine as hosts, are the vilest of beasts and will experience the Almighty's just wraith.

    As the Kindred is more closely aligned with the unseen and hidden realms, these tantric practices allow the participants prolonged exposure to these realms. This exposure can enact subtle changes in ourselves as the metaphysical is greater within us and is stirred more by it. Caution is required when employing these meditations however. Because the links formed by the participants are spiritual and emotional, one should choice their partners careful. As these meditation are constructs of the Man, the Man can fall victim to jealousy, anger and betrayal. Only those who are close and committed emotionally and spiritually should use these practices.

    But let us examine one of these meditations. The first one is called the 'Seven-Fold Eye.' It is a derived from a meditation on the Hindu Sun god Purusha. This technique is employed for the participants to meditate on the divine, metaphysical spark within the Kindred. This meditation should take place under a full moon, and if possible next to or in a calm body of water. On each participate, a golden Seven Ray sigil is painted around the right eye, the left nipple, the naval chackra and left inner thigh. Fresh blood, from Kine, is brushed around the ankle of the right foot. The two participants then join in an upright, seated position. The two hold each other with their right arm while the left hand is planted palm flat, finger splayed on natural ground. The left leg of each is tucked under the right leg of the other and then the participants plant their right foot on natural ground. The hands and feet allow for excess energy to drain off into the earth and at represent the Kindred's place in the interconnected physical and metaphysical cycles. During the joining the participants stare into the right eye of the other, focusing on metaphysical nature of themselves and observe it in the other.     I would like to offer a side-note to the original excellent essay. It must be noted that applications of tantric practices for Great Work require due preparation. It should not be attempted by Kindred without understanding of Change in general. Moreover, exhaustive physical and spiritual training is required before such rituals can be attempted with reasonable safety. There are multiple documented cases of mortals jumping straight to Eastern practices concerned with energy and mind without proper preparation and suffering severe mental and physical trauma. And while, by our very nature, we are impervious to the second, the first remains a strong possibility. Such meditations should only be attempted if the Kindred knows exactly what they are dealing with.

    On this note I plan to organize and donate to this Chapter House my notes on training the body and mind to be able to create and mantain the focus required for advanced practices such as Raja Yoga. It is not the subject covered in this specific essay, but the basic preparations are more or less the same.
