For the next member of the Ordo Dracul that comes to the Chapter House, something is obviously off about the once welcoming home of Sacramento's Dragons. No lights are on inside the Victorian mansion, and the front door opens easily without being locked.

The third story is vacant save for a few pieces of furniture; all the personal effects of the one time Grand Wyrm are gone. The only thing that remains are a set of keys, presumably to the various doors and rooms of the Chapter House, and a single piece of paper with six words on it.

In the flowing script of Max's handwriting, the note reads simply:

I am going to find her.

The lack of lights was the first sign something was off. Stepping through the unlocked doors, Teo's Mekhet instincts kicked in, not to mention those he had acquired in life from decades of living and working around Kindred. He crept quietly as he could through the house and up to the exercise room on the second floor.

Retrieving the sturdy practice hand-and-a-half training sword, Teodor searched the rest of the floor and found no one, but no apparent signs of struggle or break-in either. Next was the Grand Wyrm's chamber, Teo crept up to the third floor and searched the two up stairs rooms. Finding a key ring and note in the sparser of the two, he picked up the keys and put them in his pocket and read the note. He hoped that whoever it was originally intended for would not be offend by him reading it as the situation at hand was quite alarming.

The note was shocking to the monk to say the least. Ms. Samantha? His sire? he wondered. But he did not linger on that thought. He swept through the chapterhouse checking every door and window, locking those that weren't. Once satisfied the house was temporarily safe, he withdraw the prepaid cellphone he had acquired at a Target. He had finally broken down and bought one, accepting that he would need one if he was going to be involved with lessons for Chase and Callum, not to mention the book investigation. Dialing the Herald, Teo could only hope she would know more.
