The half moon's light illuminated Sacramento's streets as Chantay walked briskly down the sidewalk. She'd been at a law library through much of the evening, looking up precedents and past cases until the early nighttime hours. Now she was on her way home to get some rest, and check out the bit that dog had given her a few days earlier. The damn thing was itching like crazy.

As Chantay walks, she begins to feel a sense of unease. Something is decidedly wrong about her surroundings. But what?

|
|
|
Chantay slows down a bit, getting the unmistakable sense that something wasn't right. She begins to look around warily, senses straining as she tries to figure out what isn't right.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The nearby buildings seem to grow slightly as Chantay's senses increase dramaticallly. Sniffing around, she soon realizes that the sense of wrongness seems to be coming from a nearby storm drain. Oddly, it almost feels as if she's walking on four legs now, but that can't be right.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Chantay growled slightly? Growled? Could that have been right? She never growled...yet, it just seemed natural here. She covers the distance to the storm drain in a few leaping bounds, her eyes narrowing as she glares at it. She tries to grab it, tug at it. But finds that she's strangely unable to secure a grip. She finds herself growing annoyed; the sensation churning, growing, and changing inside of her. Until she finds herself throwing back her head, a howl torn from her throat as she vents frustration tinged with rage into Sacramento's nighttime sky.

Casey is taking the very very long way to work. He had left early and was taking his time to get there. In fact he'd left almost four hours hours early. Just after the moon had just risen. Days and nights like this Casey always just felt wrong being indoors. He wanted to be under open sky. As the evening shadows deepened, Casey shifted to become a wolf. He sometimes felt he was human far too often and now was as good a time to balance out that as any.

Narration:
A piercing howl intrudes into Casey's wandering thoughts.

Everything shrinks around Chantay as her frustration focuses on the storm drain. It has to go. Now. ((Urshul form for stats purposes))

Another murderous growl bursts forth from Chantay as she throws herself at the gate, scarcely even registering that she was tearing at the steel bars with massive paws instead of her usual hands.
Fixin' it Up
The metal screeches in protest beneath her claws, buckling slightly beneath the onslaught. But despite the damage it now sports it stands firm against the furious attacks, much to Chantay's frustration.

Narration:
The storm drain dents slightly under the force of Chantay's blows, but it's still far from giving way.
Two more attacks before Casey arrives.

|
Chantay lets out another explosive snarl, claws digging into the asphalt as she plies her now considerable strength against the stubborn grating.

The dent deepens beneath another particularly powerful blow. But the follow up skids harmlessly across the the rusted metal, shiny steel showing where her claws carved superficial scratches into the surface.
