Lou wasn't quite sure what he could say to help his friend. He was there to listen, at least. But was there more? Would any words he could say be enough?
"You can't blame yourself for being afraid... at least..." Lou took a breath, and his face lit up for a brief moment, as if he had been enlightened with new information. "At least, not at first. Being afraid is how we survived."
Lou looked to the ground for a moment to gather his thoughts.
"In the end, you did see her though. It may have been late than you'd have liked, but you got to be with her before she passed. I'd say that was a success. You got over your fear, and your..."
Lou wanted to say 'stupidity' to quote L'aire herself, but didn't want to be accused of calling her stupid.
"...and you came to realize what you needed to do. I don't see a downside to that. Unless, she wasn't happy in the end?"
Lou walked up to L'aire and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Did your mother forgive you?"
