Crocker Art for Shadows

Just before the appropriate time for everyone to arrive, Chris makes sure everything such as the admission tickets is taken care of. He had put on a nice suit for the occasion, matching the proud smile on his face.

Planned together with Daniella Sage, this should be a great evening for the family. He wouldn't say he's all too excited about the current temporal exhibitions, but he knows the permanent parts of the Crocker Art Musuem are amazing.

He hopes everyone can make it. Especially since the Priscus is curious about some members of the family. What is going on between Teodor and Martha, if something is going on? And he would actually be seeing Max and Aileen together, maybe they could make an appointment to meet later.

Over time we have so many good ideas, but live up to only a few. Maybe that can change.

Being the shy woman she was, Aïleen didn't have an extensive wardrobe, so she chose her standard black dress that fitted most possible social events. Walking into the Crocker Art Museum, the shy woman hoped most of the other Shadows would already be there, so she could smoothlessly blend in from the rear. Alas, she was apparently out of luck, since Priscus Wooding was the only one already in attendance. She would have to talk.

Good evening, Priscus Wooding. It was a great idea to call for this informal meeting, sir. what else could she say ? Plus, it would always be a change from her usual treat, she who nearly always stayed home. If anything were to happen though, she swore she would never ever attend any meeting that wasn't strictly mandatory.

[Daniella Sage]

Daniella was looking forward to visiting the museum with the family that evening. It would be nice to see everyone outside of a structured setting and actually out having a good time. Well, she would be having a good time, she always enjoyed an evening at a museum.

This evening she wore her tan dress, figuring it fit the setting of the museum, and upon entering she smiles to see her Priscus and another. Walking up to them, “Good evening Mr Wooding, Miss McFarlane, I hope you are both well.”

Max was the next to arrive, sporting his usual casual attire: Jeans and a button shirt as well as the glasses he sometimes wore when he needed to look intelligent; or in this case, like he knew a single damn thing about art. Which he didn't.

He gives the group a small wave of the hand as he approaches, nodding his head to the other Shadows. "Evening all..."

Martha is en route and drops a respectful text to Chris Wooding to let him know: "Sir, I hope to arrive shortly and do not wish to be late. Kind regards, M'

[Catherine Keyes]

Catherine almost decided to push a little extra work into the current piece she was working on, but there was something about a gathering of silent shadows that made her curious. Not that she hadn’t experienced it before, but that it would be a welcome difference to what she was expecting -- and there was never anything wrong with an art museum or gallery.

Although she preferred spoken word performances.

Poets were always so tasty.

It was the pull that it was family, and you could never really pick the ones that were older than you, and the ones that were younger than you....you only had a say occasionally.

For that matter she arrived after Mr Heinz, an aqua-green shirt tied with a black belt and a long white maxi skirt that showed only the hint of black over the heel shoes.

She had let her stay longer, and felt as if perhaps the soft ringlets it fell in naturally were a bit much.

As soon as she walked in the room she felt her eyes irritably drawn to the Bailiff a pang of something spiked through her at the woman. “Good evening.” she said.

Her words nothing more than a simple echo posed as a greeting.

With every shadow that arrives, the Priscus' smile grows a tiny bit wider. 'I bid you all welcome.' Unintentionally, he might do that a bit too much like Dracula. Although without the accent and the costume, one would have to have seen the original movie to recognize it.

'I hope everyone is well...' he looks at his phone, 'Martha Villiers is running a bit late. So we can wait until she arrives.'

Because, what would become of the world if even Mekhet lose their patience?

Although... he is not sure if waiting for Erika Brady is going to result in anything good.

'Have some of you taken a look at collection already?'

[Martha Villiers]

The little monk was not exactly tickled pink but he was fairly excited. The Clan outing to the Crocker Art Museum had alerted him to its current exhibition of Nepalese art.

Nepal was one of the cultures of the hidden wisdom of East and its art would undoubtedly be packed with the occult. Teo felt he just had to share his knowledge with someone and had arranged to meet with Martha ahead of the outing. He simply had to educate her about occult nature of the art as a fellow Dragon so she could enjoy the art on aesthetic and esoteric levels. Arriving early at gallery in his usual black cassock and canvas satchel, a sketch pad was sticking slightly out of the bag which he hoped to copy down some of the potential imagery for research later.

Martha, attired in her usual school uniform with hat and cane, was listening. Making careful use of her cane as she nods pays attention to Teo's insights.

"...so since Brahma is seen as inhabiting the Sun and the eye, the mirror is employed by the individual to stare into the right eye so the Divine in the individual may be contemplated during meditation." he explains as they walked up.

Nodding again, Martha took a moment to steady her Beast in anticipation of meeting the other Vampires.

Aware that there are some Apollonian elements in the legends of the Magi and the East in the realm of the Indus, Martha ponders this, adding a merry; "I see...I see...we should certainly examine these artifacts in greater detail. It will be interesting to see if there are any Pythagorean elements amongst them."

"Indeed." he nodded. As he saw his assembled Cousins, which was quite possibly the entire clan, he glanced to Martha. "I believe the expression is....'fashionably late'?"

With a nod to Teo Martha can only agree. She is soon adjusting her hat and offering a sensible, discrete and respectful curtsy to Chris. "Good evening, sir...I apologize for any tardiness or lateness."

"Good evening sir. " Teo nods slightly to Wooding. Nothing too showy as they were in public and then smiles warmly to everyone.

When the other Shadows arrived, Aïleen greeted each in turn with her mandatory shy smile and nod, slowly fading to the side of the gathered Kindred. That was where she felt the safest, for what it was worth. She was there stooding awkwardly by the side when Priscus Wooding started the conversation by a mundane roll call. There was no need to speak yet, which was just as well for her, and she answered by simply shaking her head. It was so weak a movement that her hairs barely skimmed her forehead. Herald Villiers and Slave Raluca then arrived together, deep in talk. Perhaps she could walk along them, and listen, and never have to talk... her feet slowly started drifting in the pair's direction.

Catherine nodded at the appearance of Miss Villiers and the monk. For a moment her eyes looked over the others of her clan. The fact that they arrived together gave even the Bard pause.

I wonder what the Story is there?

She forced the serpent, which had uncoiled and was flapping at the bared beast as it entered, back down into it’s cage. Catherine could handle the creature within her, but there were times when even her own family, and their penchant for silent beasts, found ways to surprise her.

One day she might actually get used to it.

“I haven’t yet,” Catherine responded to the Priscus before turning to the gorgeous Miss Sage.

“Miss Sage, may I have a moment of your time?”

Some things might need to be discussed, and there were few situations were it was appropriate.
