"Still working on that," Stripes admits. "There's also been some gun running and weird folks involved..."
He glances to Queen Byeli again.
"Queen Byeli is the one that asked us to handle it," Stripes says. "We'll get this taken care of. If you know anything that might help though...?"
Stripes lets the question hang in the air, looking up to the giant curiously.

Green made a face, his craggy face rearranging itself startlingly in a frown for a wonderful, horrifying, moment. "No. Don't know nothing. Why? You need an extra pair of hands... you know... ah... if things start going umm... strange, like?"
Sometimes the way to uncover the secret workings of a place was to get one's hands dirty.

"Nah, got it handled like I said," Stripes says before giving a shrug. "It just never hurts to poke around, I figured."
Stripes stretches a bit, partially due to feeling cramped. Partially due to feeling so... well, so short next to Green. The chill in the air around the giant also gives Stripes pause. The cold mantle makes it pretty clear just which court Green belongs to after all.
"You know what's up with Queen Byeli though?" he prods, curiosity getting the better of him. "I'm pretty sure I've never seen her show up at a party alone."

"No idea," the mountain admitted. A flash of concern ran across his features, but if the worry registered on an emotional level, Green made no sign, nor did his voice betray any fear.

Stripes shrugs at that answer. Green had said he hadn't been around long so that wasn't surprising.
Probably wasn't smart for the tiger to poke into a winter's business anyway, but certain boundaries just didn't exist to Stripes' curiosity. Even with the freehold's enchanted metal carving bolstering him.
Still, the tiger finds himself coming up a bit short on any further small talk to make with the giant.
"So umm..." Stripes pulls himself to a halt before recalling something. "What exactly has been happening at Westfield?"

"There was a riot. Some guy managed to break into an ATM and tossed all the money out. In a food court... so... ah... you can image the crowd fighting over it. Things is... the guy was babbling about spirits and stuff. Uh... you could say he'd gone off the deep end, right? Then I heard that random stuff like that is always happening around there. Know anyone with an ear to the ground for stuff like that?" The giant munched on one the last morsels from his plate, looking thoughtful.

Stripes raises an eyebrow. And he thought the gun runners were crazy.
"Smudge lives out on the streets, he's winter like you," Stripes explains, looking around. "And ogre, big guy. One eye, loads of smoke..."
The tiger frowns. There's no sign of the winter courtier from where he's standing. He does, however, notice Queen Terri stepping onto the dais.
"Speaking of winter, looks like it's time for the crowning," Stripes notes, pointing to the monarchs taking their place.
A shiver, and touch of sorrow go through him. Autumn might not be in charge anymore, but there's something about this event that's always so... powerful to watch.
