"Work is never finished..." Weavebreaker said as her mind shifts to Vae's words on the threat of Banishers around Sacramento State. She would rather live within a known danger, than a unknown one. She takes another sip of coke.
"Still working on my transition from Savannah. A bit glad for the winter break..."

Samael glances up at the stage as the Jammer politely suggests conversations be taken elsewhere and then the contest begins in earnest. He smiles at Weavebreaker.
"True, work is never finished, Weavebreaker, and I'm not sure I'd be entirely comfortable if it did. Even the Lord needed rest, though, so enjoy the break. And welcome to Sacramento, even if I'm a little late in the offering."
He nods to West, raising his glass.
"It was good talking with you, if briefly. We should get a drink sometime, somewhere a bit quieter. I'm going to find a table a bit further from the stage and see if that does any good, it seems there are quiet a few new arrivals here as well I should try to at least meet."
"You're both welcome to join me, of course. But if I don't get a chance to speak with you again this night, have a good evening."
Samael takes his drink and departs.

Given that he'd already been keeping half an eye on the DJ, West wasn't surprised to see the spellwork when the lemon-y scent that accompanied spellcraft wafted close. He'd pulled the Imago himself, but held it -- and was a mixture of relieved and disappointed to see that it was only a trivial gaffe.
Because, you know, you never knew when there was fun to be had.
"Cool, yeah," he nodded to Samael.
As the other mage disappeared, he blinked, looking around and realizing it was just him and Weavebreaker.
Did he just... what I was... motherfucker.
He'd have to keep an eye on the good Father.
Goddamn Guardians.
"So, uh, like that?" he asked, cocking his head to where the fireworks had been.

Weavebreaker could not help but let her eyes wander where West's attention gathers. She let out a soft sigh and shrugged, turning back to her drink on the bar.
"People really do not think about shit sometimes..." She said bluntly. It was dangerous not to consider the weight of actions if you were just a mere sleeper, and it was increased tenfold by being awakened.
Weavebreaker let out a sigh. "I understand the point of this..." She held tightly the urge to make any hand motions with her words. "But I cannot stand the posturing...and the..." She let out another sigh giving a shrug and taking a sip of coke.
Part of her felt homesick, but she knew Savannah was not much better...

"People have died here."
West made a small circle with a finger.
"Not just here," he continued, indicating the city before his finger came to rest on the bar.
"Here."
It was said with the casual certainty that only someone close to death can manage. The word didn't emphasize that people had died: it emphasized the geographical location. The subtext was clear -- that the rules weren't simple posturing.
And the deaths had begun again.
One thing that West always liked about Arrows that came from the military: they understood rules.
Another couple of drinks and I'd be spoutin' Colonel Jessup. Look at Donnie. Look at Brutus. Josh got it. Vae gets it.
He shrugged.
"But... yeah. People don't think about shit."
Fucking people.

Weavebreaker nodded her head, appearing to calm down with West's words. She did not have a problem with the enforcement of the rules, but the fact that people felt like testing or ignoring them. She glanced down for a moment, looking at the ice slowly melting within what was left of her coke.
"I think that is part of the reason why I am here..." She shrugged, not giving it much thought. Weavebreaker had put in many college applications in across the country and had the grades to make it into many she applied for. She wondered, from time to time, how fate played into her landing on Sacramento.

West gave Weavebreaker a shrug, one that she would sooner or later come to learn was a frequent response from the Acanthus. Everyone had reasons, of their own, or of Lachesis'.
He watched as the mages began to disperse, and their host follow a pair. He was focused enough to not linger over Bell, but mentally bookmarked her for a better look later. Who wouldn't?
Sentinel or no, he was still an Arrow. He'd already decided if he ever wanted to take out The Rage, it would begin with some dumbass stunt to grab Jammer's attention.
"Go make nice with... Dr. Primoria," he said, gesturing in the Curator's direction. There was a hint of a pause, as if he were going to say something else before her honorific and last name.
His head cocked toward where the Hierarch had disappeared with her entourage.
"I'm going to go hold up a wall."
