L’aire’s violets also perked up in an ‘orly’ expression. “If I’d have known you had a hot tub I would have brought some swimwear.” Her intrigue was probably the same as the Steepscramblers.

Returning Terri’s grin she added. “I’ll have to go speak to her about it soon. I suck at cooking and god knows I need to learn more than three ingredient dishes.” For several different reasons.

L’aire hoped that the poor little distraught kitten will eventually come around. As the Squirrel went back to poker, and Heath picked up her note, the Fairest shifted her mental gears again. The Dancer shook her head. “Nope, it’s cold enough. If not, I’m sure I can fix it.” She added a violet eyed wink.

….then they fell right back out of place. Of course hearing the word stud made her mind wander a second. Perception was a interesting thing, there was always more than meets the eye. “Any’s fine with me. I’ve got no preference.” Nodding as the subject went back to the game of cards. The Fairest was ready to play, even if it'd been a while.

Perry laughed. For the life of him, he hadn't played Stud in ages. It had been a long time since he'd played it. On the other hand, he knew Texas Hold'em well. That was a usual game, and it was what was popular these days. He replied, "I think we should go with Hold'em. Seems like something most people know; I can't even remember Stud it's been so long," with a grin.

He laughed to L'aire, smirking slightly. He sure didn't care if people wore swimsuits or not. In fact... he eyed Heath for the flicker of an instant after Sasha mentioned it. "Too bad," he said amusedly about her lack of swim attire. He'd be going in the hot tub later. The others could join him if they wished.

      stud? what's that?

Terri's Mask is that of a petite, cute woman with vibrant red hair that has black streaks throughout. Obviously athletic, her natural demeanour is friendly and she always tends to have a smile on her face.

Her fae mien is akin to a red squirrel. She has a long bushy tail and ear tufts that poke through her hair. The black streaks are actually black feathers the are a part of her mien now,; a part of her noble order.

"What the hell? Are there really so many variations?" Terri asked looking between the trio with a chuckle. "I mean, I just know Hold'em, I think." Picking up her glass, Terri sipped at the wine, enjoying the taste. With casual ease, she took a lap of the apartment, checking out the artwork on the walls and the general decor. It had been a while since she had lived outside of the hollow, the idea of living in the normal world felt...odd.

"Hold 'em it is then!" exclaimed Heath happily. He was most fond of Hold 'em anyways. "I've only ever heard of those three styles of play, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more," mentioned the Fairest to Terri. "Well then, let's set up a game." Heath took a seat at the felted poker table along with Perry. "Do we want to exchange cash for chips or do we want to do a poor man's game?" asked Heath with an innocent smile.

L’aire was a little sad she didn’t bring a suit. Maybe next time. Then she had a quick notion and asked anyway. “Gee, Perry, don’t you have some spares around?” Smiling with a wink.

“Yeah there’s a few Terri. But Hold’em seems to have caught on quickly the past few years.” Shaking her head a little and with a grin. “Hell Vegas hosted a couple tournaments while I was there. And I’m talking world champion tourneys.” The Fairest chuckled softly. She never minded when those were in town, the Cirque ended up with sold out nights when they were.

The Fairest wondered what happened to the whole ten dollar buy in thing, but was curious to Heath’s mention. “Poor man’s?” She quipped as she took a seat a the table. Her fingers gracefully swept across the area before her, enjoying the feel of the fabric.

Perry chuckled at L'aires remark about extra bathing suits, taking a pull from his beer. "Sorry, I left my spare bikini in my other apartment." A laugh, and he stuck his tongue out at the Winter Courtier in a flash. Placing his wrists on the table's armrest, he relaxed a bit. "There really are a lot of different ways to play poker, it's true -- but Hold'Em's really the only one people play usually outside a casino. It's a popular variation because of the community cards, I think." And the increased coverage on television...

Perry said, "I figured a ten buck buy-in was about fair; enough to keep it interesting but without breaking the bank," he said with a laugh. "I'll chip us up..." And he began to pull out chips from their metal briefcase-type container after he dropped a tenski on the table.

After finishing a quick lap of the room, Terri glided over to join them at the table, placing down her wine before carefully settling down, making sure not to squash her tail. It was like second nature as the bushy appendage seemingly shifted itself around the seat to rest by her legs.

"Ten-bucks sounds cool," Terri said, picking up her purse and pulling out some money to pass to Perry with a grin. "I'll be seeing that again, you know," she chuckled, letting the bullshit start early. It was all part of the game, after all.

"Oh, umm, poor man's I guess I mean gentleman's game, like for the hell of it," explained Heath, scratching his head as he glanced at the ceiling, wondering if he had used proper terminology. But it seemed that everyone was decided on a pay-to-play method.

"It's more fun to play with real risk anyways, more exciting. Victories and losses are real, a battle of the wallets, heh heh," he chuckled, though a bit half-hearted. He liked to take risks for the thrill of it, but so long as it was something he could afford to lose. A little money was nothing though, or a cheap thrill as it were.

Heath laughed at Perry's comment next. "Ha, ya know it wouldn't surprise me if you did have another apartment. I don't suppose you ever have to hide from disappointed clients do you? Unless of course you just use it for your bikini collection."

In any case Heath fished out a ten-dollar bill and set it before him, meshing his long fingers together and pushing them out as if stretching them in preparation.

“Har de har har Perry.” The Fairest blithely stuck out her tongue to the Shadowsoul.

L’aire tipped her head toward the Fairest…Lawyer with a quizzical look. “You seem to know a lot about gambling Perry.” Winking with a smirk.

“Ohhh ya think so Terri?” L’aire shot a playful ‘orly’ face to the Steepscrambler. The Fairest pulled out her own ten spot from her pocket. “Alright there’s my contribution.”

“And true Heath, makes it a little more fun. Something on the line.” There were so many things that were gambled with as she’s seen in the Court of Sorrows. Hearts and lives seemed to be the ones that suffered because of it. Shrugging with a grin she added. “Not like using candy and pretzels and playing just for kicks. Well, we are playing for kicks.” She chuckled softly, it was, after all, a friendly game.

The Fairest also snickered at the bikini collection. Considering Perry’s flavor wasn’t a bowl of ice cream, it was a cone.

“Okay, so is our host dealing or someone else?”

diCarto palmed Terri's cash and gave her a shocked face. The lawyer figured the Dread Queen would have a decent poker face, but to come out like that with such a challenge - maybe Spartan had rubbed off on her! "It's on, Terri Nutkins," he said with a snicker as he slammed some more beer. Heath's commentary made him snort a little. "My customer service always satisfies," he replied, giving Heath all kinds of sass with a sassy motion of his left index finger. Then he paused. "But yeah, sometimes guilty people get a little upset when they don't win their cases." A laugh, and Perry stacked Terri's bill with Heath's and L'aire's before putting his own on the pile and placing all four bills in the card box for safekeeping.

"Oh, I enjoy a thrill or two," he said in reply to L'aire's comment about his gambling knowledge. "Plus my firm's annual partner retreat was to a Vegas hotel. It was all very manly; we were required to play poker and smoke cigars." At this last, he rolled his eyes slightly. "I tell ya! Straight white guys!" He chuckled.

"As for the dealer, usually it goes around after each hand so that the blinds rotate - first ten to come up is the first dealer..." He began to flip cards, first to L'aire, then to Terri, then to Heath... and then the first ten landed on him. "All right, looks like I'm first up," he said as he finished counting out and passing out two hundred in chips to each. "Small blind is always to the left of the dealer, so that's you, L'aire -- and big blind is Terri. A buck and two bucks to start, respectively." The blinds made sure there was always something in the pot.

"All set?" he asked, preparing to deal the first hand.
