Crosshair kind of had to admit - he was surprised at the choice. It struck him as strange to send out the Beta, when it was supposed to be a test for them. He wondered if that was part of the test as he braced the rifle against his arm, his eyes sweeping over the area, hard and blue.

The only thing that marked the brothers out from being from the same family. They were distinctive eyes, if someone cared to compare them.

And then Kevin couldn't pick up the trail anyway. Weird. Maybe he was distracted by the presence of the newcomers?

Whatever the reason, it didn't surprise the Irraka when River Walker gently, but almost firmly took point anyway. After all, they presumably wanted to find their target sometime this week. Fuck, maybe that was the test? Had Kevin thrown the game on purpose to see what they'd do?

He glanced sidelong at Jeremiah, and paused.

"If you want, I can scope it out. See if I can pick up any movement around here. Might be worth a shot?"

Steel lets out a low whistle at River Walker's statement. Well, that pretty much sealed the new guy's skills in his book. Then Crosshair offers to scout.

"I'm good if he scouts," he says to the others. "I'm just gonna make sure I'm ready for whatever comes."

Better to stick to what he knows best anyway. His clothes stretch a bit as he shifts toward Urhan form, gaining a bit of height and body hair. He flexes his semi-clawed fingers and smiles, taking a few warm-up jabs at the air.

Watching Kevin circle the group fills Jeremiah with doubt. Why did I start here? Why not our turf.

A small smile creeps across Jeremiah's face as Walker asks the polite niceity before leaving. He follows the Hunter along with the rest of the pack, watching around them as they move. Memories play through Jeremiah's mind as they come near the site of yet another failure.

"Nice work." The statement is quiet but the awe is noticable. After a moment Jeremiah nods to Crosshair.

"Have at it. Howl if you need us running." Jeremiah says to the Irraka. Now intensily curious to see how the other brother does.

A final nod is to Isaac as Jeremiah mimics the Rahu though only stepping a bit further into the Wolf.

To Jeremiah, Marcus gave a single nod in thanks at the work well done. He knew that Victor and he had to prove their skills to this pack, were they to succeed and find their place in this city; and the acknowledgement was a good sign at least. For his part, Marcus had no doubts about his brother's ability to succeed in his venture.

Victor had watched his back countless times since they had discovered each other, post-change. It felt good to have developed that trust again, through the reforged bond. He had so little family left already.

He shifted with ease, and held the spear firmly in his now larger hands.

Nieves follows along after the group, smirking at Riverwalker's polite designation of gender. She couldn't tell what the man was doing but he seemed pretty confident in the direction he chose for them. Eventually the sight of the red and white flowers sparked a distant memory. "I think I know this place," she says, though it was likely obvious to the others already. She was fine with their new addition taking point and didn't voice any protest. As the others began to shift their forms for battle and hunting, Nieves followed suit, her body swelling with muscle and an extension of fur until her loose clothing became more snug against her body.

Shift to Dalu, 1sux

She sniffed the air with her heightened senses, getting a bearing on their surroundings. Until Crosshair returned she would try to remain silent, but attentive. All sorts of spirits were likely nearby in the Hisil and she didn't want to give them away until they got the all-clear.

Victor shook out his neck and concentrated for a moment. There was a brief ripping sound as his transformation did a number on the seams of the open shirt he was wearing, but screw that. One of these days he'd bother to get it dedicated, but he'd rather have a gun with him when he was changed. Just in case.

They didn't call him Crosshair because of his ability regarding his trousers.

With two enlarged fingers, he touched his forelock to indicate that he was on it, and loped away into the nearby foliage. He moved quickly and quietly, taking it slow through the unfamiliar turf until he found a decent overlook position, where he settled down, with his eye at the scope of his rifle.

Crosshair scanned the Hisil through his crosshairs. If Marcus was the tracker, he was the watcher. Practice had made him excellent. The walnut stock of the Springfield Armoury M1A Garand in his grip was rested firmly against his shoulder as he swept the area.

Perfect synergy happened, and he grinned to himself.

Kevin is glad that somebody has a trail, tracking isn't his specialty even if he had managed to find that trail last time. With a moment's thought, Kevin's form alters into that of his Urshul form. He lets out a breath he didn't know he had been holding and after a few stretches, he begins walking once more with a lazy wag of his tail.

Victor vanishes into the spiritual trees, his movements quick and quiet. When he settles into his perch, the scope against his eye, he scans the area and catches a flash of movement.

As he settles his sights on it, he can pick out the flick of a tail, and the flash of a paw that seems to be half-hoof.

It's moving fast, away from the place with the flowers.

Victor gave a little, quick grin, and moved back towards the Sworn, and his brother, the rifle held loosely in his hands. His blue eyes were lit up, hot with the hunt, and the call of Glory, and the demand of Cunning. His teeth were visible in the smile. When it came to this, he was Blood Talon through and through, a real son of Fenris-Ur.

He pointed in the direction of the spirit.

"I got movement that-a-way. Looks like a messed up piece of work - half predator, half farm yard animal. It's moving away pretty damn quickly."

"That sounds like what we encountered last time. I doubt it will talk but if it seems like it might then let's learn what we can." Jeremiah follows his words with an indifferent shrug. "It is still an abomination so it will have to be taken down."

He nods to Crosshair. "Lead the way." Then to the pack. "We can not risk it letting others know that we are stronger."
