As Degnar noticed some movement from inside the castle, he focused his attention on the room where it had come from. Without even thinking about it, the Darkling raised his bow a few inches, aiming it towards where he had seen the flicker of light. It was a precautionary measure of course, since he did not plan to unleash a volley of arrows at just anyone. Identifying if who or what they were dealing with was a threat was obviously a priority. Thus, for now he waited to see who would answer his Motley mate's call.

    Sorry for the delay

Smudge couldn't believe he had been so stupid...but then again, it did go with the Ogre stereotype.

Taking the string in one hand, he pulled it.

When the string was pulled, a VERY LOUD single deep toned bell chimed. It may have been startling enough to make the unaware a bit jittery. It echoed through the building and may have even vibrated the door.

There were steps inside that were more prevalent and able to hear now with a voice that followed. "Patience, is virtuous." Each syllable was precisely conveyed at a volume that would be clearly heard through the door by Smudge.

If Degnar was still watching, the shadow in the upstairs room was still there.

As Degnar heard the loud bell, his attention shifted from the upstairs room to the door. He figured that Smudge had rang said bell, and could only assume that someone would answer his Motley mate's call soon. Better keep an eye on him, thought the Darkling to himself, lowering the aim of his bow towards the castle's front door. After all, he wasn't stand next to the Ogre so he could provide cover fire in case the Cyclopean had to get out of there in a hurry...

At the voice, Smudge just huffed. "So is temperance, but even tha' runs fuggin' thin somedays," the Ogre replied gruffly, speaking loud enough for whomever was beyond the door to hear. "In any even', I'm lookin' for someone called Bee-Bee?"

Not even a moment after Smudge spoke from outside the door, did it open in a seemingly calculated fashion. The one who opened the door was a Chateline; tall, thin and lanky but despite all of the physical features he appeared to be quick witted and a face that could easily hold any expression. There was something a little ominous about the Gravewight too, undoubtedly not really his fault but that of his time in Arcadia.

"Ever hear of the word please?" A distinctive brow rose on his tall forehead as he stood with his hands clasped in front of him with the door parted.

Looking over what the Ogre was carrying one hand moved to reference it. "And where did you find that?" His eyes peered purposefully back into Smudge's. "Please."

A little frown formed on Degnar's brow as the individual opened the door to the castle. He couldn't really hear what him and Smudge were talking about from where he was standing, so the Archer had no option but to rely on his black beady eyes. Never seen that guy before, he thought to himself, wondering if the tall Gravewight was the owner of the creature they had found in the sewers. For now, the Tunnelgrub would keep a vigilant eye on his friend and the stranger, watching for any sudden movements that would indicate the gaunt Lost was preparing to attack his friend.

Smudge wasn't sure if he liked the Wizened or not yet, quick to judge as he was.

"I 'ave actually," the Ogre replied, looking up at the gaunt man, "but I tend t' forget 'bout it."

He followed the Wizened's eyes to the creature. "Found it, dead near me home. Got a tag on it, statin' to return t' BeeBee. So, back t' me earlier poin'; any chance ya know a BeeBee...please?"

There was a long sigh from the Chataline as his forehead rose and he slowly blinked with irritation. He could have argued further about forgetting things with the Ogre, who’s scent slightly burned his nostrils. But, it was petty right now. “Try.”

Returning his hands down to rest clasped in front of him in perfect posture as he stood. “Your search, is currently over, Sir.” Though that answer may have been intentionally vague. After all, he didn’t know who this man was and he probably killed the poor creature for all the Gravewight knew.

“You may put it down there, please.” He pointed to the landing off to the left. “You may enter, if you wish to discuss further.” He backed up with the door opening it far wider. The Wizened’s eyes looked again at the creature, this time with irritation. “Do you come unaccompanied?” The thin gaunt man’s eyes flicked suddenly to Smudge awaiting an answer with a slight step back into the passing of the door. They were Changelings, and for the creature to be dead, the suited man seemed to not want to take any chances.

Degnar continued to watch the interaction between his Motley mate and the strange Wizened from his hiding spot, frowning slightly as the gaunt Chatelaine opened the door to the castle a little wider. Is he inviting him in? he wondered, concerned about Smudge falling into some sort of trap. The Darkling wasn't sure of what to do, not wanting to jump to any conclusions just yet. Then again, he was not about to let the Ogre walk into a potentially dangerous situation all alone. After all, they had pledged to be allies...and well, the Blightbent was also his only real friend.

With that in mind, the Tunnelgrub placed the arrow back in his quiver as he lowered his bow. He slung the weapon back on his back and came out of his hiding spot. May as well go join him, Degnar mused to himself as he started to head back in the direction of the castle.
