Meeting A Dragon

There was a place once upon a time, where the Lost of Sacramento would come by to have a jolly good time. However, one day someone came to town and ruined all their fun. This someone called himself Mr. Fairweather, also known as Baron Fairweather amongst the Lost. What used to be known as the Empty Orchestra, is now some tacky bar & grill called Maxine's. You may have asked yourselves why this came to be, well it is plain and simple. This Fairweather guy bought the place, and did whatever he wanted with it...which really ticked off many of the Lost of the Sacramento Freehold.

For months now, members of the Freehold have talked about how to get the Empty Orchestra back. Run-ins with Fairweather or his goons have ended poorly for many, but yet, the Sovereigns of the Freehold will not cease in their efforts of getting the place back. After all, everyone wants to see the Empty Orchestra return to its former glory, right?

So on a quiet, slightly cool autumn evening, Onyx and Crimson came together to face this so-called Baron. A couple of blocks from what is now Maxine's, there was a beautiful woman, and next to her a rather large man that looked like he could break most people with just a flick of the wrist.

The odd pair seemed to be waiting for someone, or maybe something to happen. Whatever it was, it was certainly a mystery to anyone just passing by. Fortunately, there weren't many people out, wandering the streets that evening. So there she stood, patiently waiting for the King of Wrath and the Red Victor to arrive. Once they did, the four of them would have a meeting, which could only be described as the most dangerous business meeting of their sorry lives.

Rook didn't feel the cool air, the raging furnace of his steel flesh impermeable to such changes. The Red Victor of the Summer Court generated his own warmth. As he walked down the street, he turned his head, catching sight of the fading light of a cigarette ember. With one movement, he spat on it, putting it out and using the motion to reinforce his impermeability to the temperature.

In his suit and sunglasses, he looked every bit the part of the accountant who'd woken up one day and discovered steroids, then never looked back.

The Metalflesh faced the potential of his death here with the vague indifference of a piece that understood sacrifice. If the negotiations went wrong, then he would be the first to fall, trying to buy the others the time to escape. He would not permit it to occur any other way.

If there was one regret he did have, it was that he hadn't been able to find the words to say what he'd intended to, to Anya, before he left. He knew that she hadn't wanted to be left behind. He could understand that emotion, too. If he had been the one left behind, he would have been restless and uncomfortable for the night, and if things had gone wrong, then he would have spent the rest of his life blaming himself for his lack of presence.

Rook allowed his flesh to suffuse with the resistance of steel as he approached the pair waiting on the corner. His expression was set hard.

    "Good evening," he said quietly.

The Warlord of Summer was Arrived after his Red Victor. "Are we ready?" Spartan asked all business on his face and in his body. No matter his relationship, or whatever it is, with Katrin, The Hoplite must remain focused. The Hoplite King was waiting for this meeting for nearly 6 months. This ... creature would not enjoy this meeting, but neither would the Big Idiot. He had no interest in sitting across from a True Fae. Looking into the eyes of such a monster did not excite him, however, killing it would. Spartan's signature weapon, in its inert form, was strapped to his back, under his untucked shirt so it is easily accessable.

Big Swilla nodded at Rook and Spartan as each Summer approached him and his Queen respectively. The large Coldscales was wearing a black leather vest, which clearly appeared to be Hedgespun. He also seemed to have something safely tucked under the vest, possibly a gun of some sort. Not like the reptilian giant needed it, for he was a formidable combatant without one. Then again, none of them really knew what to expect in a situation such as this one.

"Rook, Spartan," he said in greeting to both men.

Katrin's Mien, which is rarely seen outside of the Hedge, is not all that much different in appearance from her Mask.

The difference is she is unerringly perfect. (Gentrified Bearing, Striking looks 4)

Her skin is pale with the slight touches of blue and luminescent as if she was partially carved out of porcelain and ice. Her hair, like her eyes, are the dark black of onyx with the harsh clarity of ice.

Katrin was wearing a rather conservative black suit, which appeared to be tailored specifically for these sort of meetings. As usual, the Winter Queen looked flawless in her attire, her Mask hardened as usual. As the Red Victor and his King approached, she offered them both a polite nod. "Good evening gentlemen," she said in greeting to the pair. "I believe we are as ready as we'll ever be, yes?" With those words, her flawless eyes looked at each of them respectively.

"If there is anything else you wish to know or discuss ahead of time, now is the time to do that, no?" said the coldly regal Fairest, just in case any of them had any last minute concerns that needed to be addressed. "Otherwise, we may walk over there and head inside."

"What did you tell him?" Spartan asked the Winter Queen. "And what was his response?" Spartan wanted as much information as he could get before walking into this situation. "Is he aware that Swilla and Rook are coming with us?"

Rook studied the Winter Queen and the massive Crocodile. He glanced aside at his King, his posture automatically tracking Spartan's. Ready to intervene, at any point, to protect the King of Summer. Ready to die.
The Red Victor didn't turn aside, waiting in silent for Katrin's answer. Any strategising he could do, would depend on the answer to that question. Though he was prepared to do whatever it would take to defend the Freehold here. He might be a member of the Summer Court, but every member of the Freehold mattered to him. The security of it was nothing that could be compromised.

He also prepared himself to keep his tongue bitten during the conversations. It would be best if he only knew minimal details of any behind the scenes plans. That way his ensorcelled tongue couldn't betray them.

Katrin nodded at Spartan's questions, meeting his eyes with hers before responding. "He is aware that we are bringing a couple of people along with us as a security measure, yes?" said the Winter Queen, nodding in the direction of Rook and Big Swilla as she said those words. "I informed Mr. Fairweather that we are interested in discussing some business arrangements with him." She paused for a moment, letting for those words to sink in.

"He agreed to meet with us, no?" said Katrin to the hoplite King, her eyes still fixated on his. "He did make it pretty clear that this is to be a business meeting, and that any act of violence on our part will be dealt with accordingly." While she was fully aware that Spartan wouldn't be too happy about that, the Fairest felt it was proper to inform him of the situation. After all, if anyone decided to get "froggy" during the meeting, they would all have to pay the consequences. Obviously, she had already made this pretty clear to Swilla, who was to keep his mouth shut throughout the whole meeting.

As his Queen explained what the situation was, Swilla just kept his mouth shut. A frown formed on his brow when she mentioned the no violence policy, but Katrin had already gone over that with him. Still, the Coldscales was still disappointed by the fact that they couldn't walk into the meeting and lay a world of hurt on that asshole Fairweather. But being a loyal subject to the Onyx Queen, he knew that this was definitely not the time, nor place to disobey her orders. Swilla simply crossed his massive arms in front of his chest, waiting for the two Sovereigns to finish their discussion so they could get this meeting over with.

Spartan rolled his neck and looked to Rook, before looking back to the Winter Queen.

    "Very well. let us go."
Spartan says and opens the door for the Katrin to make her way inside.

Spartan was no happier about the 'no violence' clause then the Lord of the Inhospitable Chamber is. Sooner or later this would come to blows, he knew it, he could feel it.

Spartan kept his Mantle in check, along with his anger. "He will not be pleased to see me, and he will bate me into a conflict." Spartan states quietly.
