    The hierarch and her swirling skirts found a nice clear area to work on the translations, she raised an eyebrow at the quote itself before starting to work through the actual translations.

    Certain words seemed to jump out directly to her, but others just didn't fit. It wasn't as if translating into the High speech directly would work. It was a sort of pinyin and not always as precise as one would like. Every so often she would look up and note who was working and who was struggling...and even who had left. It was interesting the interactions that others had as they labored.

    But whomever had chosen the quote hadn't decided on an easy one, and after some time, and the much pounding of brain muscles she decided perhaps it would be better to go look at one of the Arrow's Sweating competitions while her brain took a the time to cool off.

    It was going so well until Halo realised he'd completely mistranslated one paragraph and had to go back to change it. He wondered where he'd picked up the appropriate Atlantean to describe squirrel mating behaviours...

    Unfortunately that set-back was enough to throw him off his game, and by the time he couldn't see straight anymore he realised the translation wasn't going to be good enough to win the event. Still, it had been a bit more entertaining than losing the foot race.
