Reverb walks outside to the Long Jump area. He had not never really done Track and Field in highschool, although he was in pretty good shape from football and always using self powered means of transporation. And if worse came to worse and he blew out a knee on the jump? Well with Doctor Toby around, you almost hope you will get injured.
Toren was next to follow, observing the sand pit curiously while smoothing a hand over his scalp that was his habit. Perhaps the bald mage would have the added benefit of an aerodynamic dome, but probably not. The concept was fairly simple, scientifically. Store energy in your legs for a kinetic burst. Those with the best training in this would succeed. "Hmm," he hmm'd, wondering just how well he would do.
I hate sand... Orpheus had never done this kind of event before, but hey, if an olympic athlete could do it, so could he. The premise is simple enough, it always is.
With his running shoes and athletic gear Halo certainly looked the part. Of course he hadn't actually done the long jump since those awful field days at High School. He smiled at the others, hoping he'd at least avoid going face-first into the sand pit.
"Good luck everyone."
Leo looked around at the group of people, as if to size them up. He wasn't sure how he'd do on this event. It was physical, which was a plus for him, but he wasn't exactly the Easter bunny hopping around town. The blades were easy enough for him, boxing and running would depend on the other competitors, and he might stand a small chance at chess. But jumping? This isn't a skill he honed or used on a regular basis.
He was brought back out of his head when Halo wished everyone good luck. Leo turned to the man and responded with a quick "You too." as he walked past the other man towards the sand pit.
Outdoors agreed with the Artist, and unfortunately it wasn’t raining. It would have been so much more fun if it was raining. Or at least, West would get the joke. Regardless Long Jump was never one of the things she was particularly good at, nor ever wanted to do in High School. It was the time with the Sunhawks that had actually gotten her to do it.
Mostly through all the ‘or else’s that actually came up with consequences. But even she had to admit, it was a creative way to get airborne.

5feet
Sometimes you make it, sometimes you just don’t.
Vaeltia had looked around at the others preparing for their own run down the tracks to the long jump, but with no one really stepping up to the punch she shrugged. It wasn’t the first time she had gone first.
A moment of simple stretching before she pounded down the track and jumped. Of course not as far as she would have liked, and she was still generally the same size. That put a bit of a damper on some things.
“Five feet.” she declared as she side stepped out of the sand pit. “Next?”
Orpheus was the next to take his jump into the sand. Figuring to get this over with quickly and get all the sand out of shoes that were inevitably going to be there. He took his time getting to the track. Sighing, he runs down the tracks, jumps and

makes a pretty fair jump. "That's what, 9 or so feet?" Walking out of the sand, he promptly begins wiping the sand off and out of his shoes. Maybe I rushed that one, but oh well. He hadn't been particularly interested in this event, but what was he to say if he didn't try everything?
