The shores of Lake Berryessa are shallow and inviting, but the island is a fair distance out. The Seekers can see it without too much straining, but it would take senses far blunter than those of an Uratha to miss the presence of a lump of land in the middle of a body of water.
Of course, there is the matter of them getting out there.
This could be rather damp.
Sally stands at the shore of the water, looking out over the lake. Sally had no problem with swimming but looked around to see if there was a boat or a skiff or anything they could use. It did look like a bit of a swim.
Stefan came to the edge just after Sally, squinting across. In his Dalu form, the Cahalith was truly massive, and he kept having to duck to avoid low hanging tree branches.
*I could freeze the lake.* he thought, after a moment's observation. *I don't know how long it would hold, though. It's a warm night.* He'd never done it before, either. Also, ice was inconsiderately slippery... and there was the possibility of falling straight through.
Quite a lot of him wanted to try, just because he could.

With that, the alpha slips back into the lighter Urhan form. Best not to put the ice under any more strain than they had to, if Stefan wasn't absolutely confident.
Stefan moved to the edge of the lake, taking a breath.
When it came to using the nature of the wolf, he found it considerably easier.
Making an ice boat on the other hand? He'd never even attempted that before.
*Stay back.* the Storm Lord thought, not wanting to cause any injury to his pack mates.
He concentrated, summoning up the Gift he had been taught, calling for the blessing of Winter Wolf.

The Cahalith must have pleased Skolis-Ur indeed, because the effect was immediate. The ground at his feet froze bitterly. The air struck like a lash.
Ten yards ahead of him, the lake set solid, thick plates of ice blossoming.
Stefan allowed himself a very, very small smile of pride as he reverted to his ordinary human shape. His immunity to the cold he'd summoned meant it would be easier if he did the break away, he figured.
*...Hop on. Should float. Hopefully, it'll last the distance.*
Anyone who didn't get back takes 3 bashing from the cold. -2 to Strength and Dexterity rolls in the cold zone for seven rounds!
Following her pack, Alejandra viewed the water and sighted out the island in the distance. Not that she was adverse to getting wet, but she did not relish the possibility of them being in an indefensible position while they were out there swimming. They would need to get across as fast as possible, keeping their eyes and ears and pit-
The Irraka backed up when Stefan spoke, and watched her pack brother with obvious curiosity as she wondered what trick he had up his sleeve. She watched as the ice bridge materialised in front of them, her brow rising.
*Now that is impressive* she remarked, to give credit where a bit of credit was definitely due.
Alejandra stepped on, once Stefan had given the okay, tentatively testing its strength reflexively.

Matthew doesn't have to be told twice. He backs away at Stefan's request, but still can't quite hide his surprise, ears flicking straight backward at the sudden blast of cold air and formation of the ice bridge.
The Cahalith sniffs cautiously at the edge of the ice, before quickly padding out onto the surface, a shiver rippling through his body at the chill.
Sally most certainly stepped back as her brother froze the lake, "Well Done." She says impressed at the actions of her pack brother. She slowly steps onto the ice bridge, wanting to make sure that the frozen water will not break. She is glad she didn't wear heals.
Stefan moved carefully onto the ice, towards the end of the bridge. Sending a surge of essence through his hands, he forced claws to burst from his fingertips and crouched down.
*This might get a little choppy. Try not to move.* the Storm Lord thought, before he raked his claws through the ice. It took considerably less time than he'd expected to chip through, the second blow hitting some unseen fissure and cracking off a good sized chunk at the end.
The Storm Lord pushed the ice berg away from the thick ice nearby, and called on the other Gifts he knew.
The wind blew towards him.

As Stefan propels the ice away, it remains initially stable, for the first few yards, the breeze pushing it along quite steadily. As the force of Stefan's cold begins to fade, the water beneath them begins to warm, and the ice begins to melt. Obviously, it's nowhere near instantaneous, but it gets considerably harder to hold on...
