Review the rules of this challenge on this post

Those interested in racing were lead to through a door outside. Once out there, they found themselves in the Hedge. Clearly, the immediate area had been cleared of thorns. About a hundred yards away, some red flags were hanging from the branches of a large tree, which marked the finish line for the upcoming race.

Tally arrives at the location, as she glances around, she hadn't expected to arrive before everyone else. She walks up to the line, looking at how they marked the path. Her gaze moves from the branches of the tree to the finish line that's hundred of yards away.

With a soft sigh, she takes off the black sweater jacket and then begins to stretch. She'll have to ask somebody to hold it for her, likely somebody who isn't running. Without the black sweater, her gray and white shirt is easier to see, along with the image of an arctic fox upon the front of the shirt. Tally is alert as she stretches, hoping to see a familiar face arrive next. Or just another Changeling period.

Tobias headed outside, shucking his suit jacket and loosening his tie. He searched around for a place to keep his jacket when he spotted Talley. With a nod, he slung his jacket over his arm and walked up to her.

"Hey, good to see you. Ready to race?" A grin spread across his face.

"I certainly am, for one, " Lou mentioned as he approached the two competitors. "I'm Lou. It'll be a good time competing with you." Lou nodded down towards his two opponents and smiled amicably before looking over the racing area.

    Description

Terri's Mask is that of a petite, cute woman with vibrant red hair that has black streaks throughout. Obviously athletic, her natural demeanour is friendly and she always tends to have a smile on her face.

Her fae mien is akin to a red squirrel. She has a long bushy tail and ear tufts that poke through her hair. The black streaks are actually black feathers the are a part of her mien now,; a part of her noble order.

Terri's powerful Mantle initiates itself as the smell of baking bread but brings with it the feeling of the Harvest, that time to take stock of the coming troubles.

"Hey guys," Terri said as she joined the three Changelings waiting by the start line. She was impressed, actually, with just how much of the hedge someone had cleared.

The Harvest Envoy was suddenly very interested in who that person was.

Stretching out her legs, Terri felt a wave of excitement course through her limbs. The last time she raced at the Four Seasons, she was left for dust by Neil and Al. At the thought, she smiled wistfully. Oh, how they had all changed.

John arrives at the clearing, somewhat surprised at its apparently artificial nature. He hadn't spent much time in the Thorns, and wasn't even aware that such a massive change was even possible. Outside of Hollow building, obviously, but the specifics of that were a closed book to the darkling.

No time for academic curiosity right now, though, he thought, scanning over the competition and giving Terri a nod in greeting.

Well, I bet I can at least beat the big guy, he doesn't look exactly built for speed.

Realising that he didn't actually know the names of anyone present, he introduces himself as he begins to stretch in preparation.

"The name's John Lapsley, by the way, nice to meet you all."

Danny moved to the starting line, looking around at the cleared area. It was impressive - he had never been able to shape the hedge with such power.

His candelight mantle gleamed, and he felt the tug of desire, of need, to know power, to shape reality around him as-

The Smith briefly closed his jet black eyes, and shook himself. He looked at Terri, smiling wanly.

"...Now we'll um, we'll see if those lessons helped."

Rook strode to the starting line with the self-possessed confidence that was innate to him. His blazing mantle swirled around him, crackling powerfully. The vote of confidence that Spartan had put into him when he had appointed him as the Red Victor meant that he intended to give his best showing in everything he competed in.

Besides, his nature demanded competition, and he was quick. He was also deceptively fast for a man made of steel. The thought made his lips twitch slightly.

Faster than a speeding bullet. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. He is the Man of Steel.

    Literally.

    "Have a good race, everyone."

"Hey, everybody," the lawyer said as he arrived, moseying on up to the starting line. He looked down to check his shoelaces. Yup. Check. No problems.

It wasn't like diCarto was overly athletic or anything like that. He just liked to have fun, and this certainly would be. Looking over the others in the competition, he smiled, ready for the firing pistol or whatever would tell them to go.

Anya could remember disliking racing in school. There was something faintly boring about running around in a large circle, inevitably lagging behind the best sprinters. Things had changed since then and, as she studied the area of the Hedge that they were to run in, it elicited memories of her escape from Arcadia. Then, it had felt as though she had moved with ridiculous speeds - although she had hardly been of the mind to actually check.

She did not expect to win, but if she ran as though the dragon was behind her, perhaps she would not come last.

"Hey," Anya greeted, as she came to a halt beside the others.
