Sin nodded at Matthew. He'd follow the older wolf's lead for the moment. Would they trade with the fox for knowledge? He started riffling through his memories, wondering what he'd ask.

The prey was theirs. They had fulfilled their duty as the great hunters. Whether the 'kill' was literal or symbolic mattered little to him.
Eyes flick between his erstwhile packmates, a clear indication that this question wasn't meant for the spirit. <<Has anyone scouted the river's bounds recently?>>
Sin froze as Matthew asked his question. The bridges. Were the other packs noticing the same thing he, Jessie, and Skaald had on patrol a few weeks ago? He looked at the older wolf, meeting his gaze, before giving a quick, short nod. <<I have>> he said.
<<New here. Don't know.>> Nori responded, to Firebringer, but without taking her eyes from the spirit. She gazed at the creature cautiously, still unconvinced that it had no more tricks up it's sleeve.

A brief nod to Sin. <<If you found anything unusual, or out of place, this might be our chance to learn a bit about what it means.>> He squeezes the fox spirit for emphasis. <<At least if our friend here has been living up to his reputation for cunning.>>
The Fox yips and squirms.
<<Yes! Truth! No lies!>>
This was an opportunity they couldn't pass up. <<Symbol. Fists. On bridges. Bridges weird. Distorted.>> He tried to express the idea as best he could, working through the vocabulary. He met Matthew's eyes, searching for the flicker of understanding. Had he communicated it well enough?

The flicker is there, just before the Cahalith turns back to his quarry, jaws nearly on top of the thing's ear. A deep part of him wanted to bite down, teach this spirit what it meant to be prey.
But they could use the information. And they'd made a bargain.

<<Snake eyes! Snake eyes! Burn out the Moonchanged!>> the Fox Spirit squeals, flinching back from Matthew's teeth. <<Revenge! Revenge for the lost!>>
It cringes, whining submissively.
