The Witching Hour

Night has long since fallen, with much of the traffic dying down as people fall into the rhythm of the nightlife. It's the Witching hour, the point at which late hours of the night bleed into the early hours of the morning.

The street corner Spyder had mentioned is particularly silent. It's situated near the river,just off to the side of the 1st street bridge, down by the riverfront. It affords a clear view of both the river and the bridge, while the approaching streets remain in darkness, save for a single streetlight hangs overhead, casting a small puddle of light on the intersection.

Aenigma was dressed in his usual nondescript black clothing, his messenger bag slung over his left shoulder. He would've made use of the Mind Arcanum to make himself less noticeable, if it wasn't for the fact that he had already done a good amount of spellcasting earlier that evening. At this point, he was somewhat exhausted by it, and his pattern could only hold so much of the Supernal before it became too much for him to handle.

However, the Warlock still used his natural talent for remaining inconspicuous in such situations, as he quietly approached the meeting location, using the natural darkness of the streets to his advantage. He could only hope that Miach would be able to follow his lead, as he moved silently towards the meeting location, hanging back for a bit as he did a quick scan of the area before going any further.

Hmm, couldn't have picked a sketchier place to have this meeting...

Prepared Spells

Since they had had time to prepare, but he really didn't know what to expect, Miach had chosen to wear the most casual and comfortable clothes he had in stock: a jean denim over a T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and hiking shoes not even cleared of dried mud. He had a small backpack, with only a bottle of water, and a first aid kit, just in case.

As the Acanthus drew near the meeting place, he wished he could have had some support on the bridge to look after them, but they didn't have that luxury. He disliked this feeling of impeding danger, of unknowns, and looming people. It was already hard for him not to shake in his pants. He tried his best to follow the sneaky Warlock in front of him, but stuck too much to the walls, and bumped into a can laying there.

The two mages approached the streetlight, Aenigma silent and sticking to the shadows, while Miach followed behind, quite a bit less silent. Everything looks calm and quiet as they near the spot, not a shadow out of place.

Both of you, please keep an eye on your active spell limit, in addition to contigation. You've both got your max for non-transitory spells

Miach cursed as the noise of the can reverbated disproportionnately in the empty street, but no one seemed to react immediatly. It was now pointless to hide anymore, and the Acanthus moved toward the puddle of light, warily looking around him. Sometimes, his hand reflexively moved toward his throat, but the mystagogue tried to maintain his self-control. As he stood straight under the light, he turned on himself, looking slowly and carefully around, above, and below. The light in his eyes though kept him from seeing a thing, and he stood there, a perfect target.

Aenigma couldn't help but wince as Miach stumbled into a can, making more noise than he had hoped for. There wasn't much that could be done about it, and with the Acanthus venturing forward into the light, he began to feel a little nervous about the whole thing.

So much for remaining unseen...guess may as well join him up there...

The Warlock walked up next to his fellow Mystagogue, looking around the area for any signs of the individual they were supposed to be meeting. While he didn't know what this "Spyder" guy looked like, or whether he was actually a male or female, he continued to scan the area for anyone that may approach.

Feeling a little on edge, and somewhat impatient, Aenigma opted for a little Supernal help. He reached deep within his own mind, as he envisioned the Imago of the spell he was about to cast. And with some effort, the Warlock manages to cast the spell.

Aenigma's sense consciousness fizzled as he exceeded the spell limits. Out of the corner of his eye though, he notices a small movement in the shadows beneath the bridge. After a moment, a skinny blonde teenage boy starts making his way along the shore. He's still moving carefully, keeping "out of sight", but Aenigma manages to spot him all the same.

As he noticed the boy, Aenigma frowned slightly, wondering if that was their guy. The Warlock's intuition told him that it had to be him, but yet made him wonder why the kid was trying to remain unseen. Then again, he'd done the exact same thing until Miach had kicked the can by mistake.

"We've got company," he whispered to the Acanthus, nodding in the direction of the blond boy.

Shifty as he was from the start of this expedition, Miach jumped when Aenigma told him they were no longer alone. He quickly turned and started peering in the darkness in the general direction the Warlock was looking at, but to no avail. It didn't reassure him, and he pulled his hands in and out of his pockets several times in a row as he couldn't find a position he felt well in.
