Joshua raised his eyebrows at the 'Watchdog' - he was both, too uninterested in and afraid of trouble, so he didn't really mind the remark.
When they arrived at the building he looked at Sable. He didn't doubt her sense of direction anymore, but the dark building didn't make the impression that anyone was home right now.
"So.. what now?"

Sable seems to feel a little hurt by being called a teenager but she distracts herself with the curiously empty home. The darkened windows make her feel like sneaking in and creeping through the shadowy rooms of the house even though she wasn't completely sure what she would look for."Want me to find a way in?" She didn't think it through, she just offered.

Joshua watched the house, a clueless look on his face.. "I don't know, it looks like noone's home.." He didn't think of how this actually might help them breaking in, but then again, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box.
"Does this mean we came for nothing?"

Sable shrugs, "lets find out.." She walks up the doorstep and rings the doorbell (or knocks on the door).
|

|
No answer comes after several minutes, no sounds from inside, and still no lights, but... you can smell something cooking inside...you can't quite place the smell, but it's kind of like pork.
|

Sable sniffs at the air, mmmmm... Her tummy growls. Didn't I just have a hamburger? It seemed like a long time ago now that the smell was floating to her through the door. She started looking for a way in, she couldn't help it. Something about that smell made her want to tunnel inside for a better look and she really never learned about boundaries from her Fae parent. Any sign of an opening to the basement floor, an open window, drain cover that might lead in, air duct, whatever and she would be creeping through those shadowy halls in no time.

There's no entry point in the front of the house, besides the front door. It's bay windows are shut and look secure.

Sable looks to Joshua and whimpers a bit. Her big white eyes seem desperate for a means to an end of this strange adventure. She scampers over to the sides of the house looking for a path to the back, up to the roof, or into the house. Joshua can hear her short, quick breaths as she sniffs around. She looks a little like Ducky from "The Land Before Time" running around sniffing for tree stars. Her mien always had looked a little bit reptilian, with her tiny claw-like fingernails and scaly black skin (when it wasn't faded into shadow from fear/embarrassment), but now she seemed truly as though she were a tiny water dwelling dinosaur.

"Uh, I'll keep a lookout for you," Joshua suggests, feeling rather anxious.
As Sable walks around to the back of the house, she sees the back door is only partly shut, so it's clearly not locked. Still no lights on, and that aroma is thick in the air behind the door.

Sable attempts to be sneaky while approaching the open door and usually she's adept at moving through darkness in secrecy but this time she just doesn't do well.
