Grab that Punk Kid
McGruff the Neighborhood Watchdog reaches out and grabs Joshua firmly by the arm. "You're under Citizen's Arrest," he says smugly, pulling him close enough for the Elemental to smell the alcohol on his breath.

I'll ghost Sable for the rest of this encounter, sorry for the delay
Sable walks around the side of the house and sees Joshua grabbed by that nasty old man. "Hey, let him go!" she yells as she calls upon her Contracts with Darkness to frighten him...
Creeping Dread 1sux
The old man flinches at the invocation of the Contract and his eyes dart about the shadows cast by the streetlamps, suddenly reminded of why he should be afraid of the dark. His grip on Joshua doesn't falter, however; if anything, he's holding on tighter.
McGruff is at -3 to rolls resisting fear or intimidation. Joshua is up.

Escaping
Joshua tucked at his arm and the shock gave him enough power to break the grip. Out of his pocket a shrill tone indicated that he just recieved a text message, but he didn't notice that right now. Wide-eyed he backed off a few steps. RUN! a really really scared voice in his head yelled and he almost did so, but then he remembered Sable; could she run as fast a him? He couldn't desert her, so he instead got a few steps closer to her and watched the drunk suspicously.

The man looks at Joshua and Sable uncertainly, battling against his unnatural anxiety. Joshua's movement towards his friend activates the security lights on the house next door, casting Joshua and Sable's true shadows upon the ground. "What the hell...?" he mutters.
Sable grabs Joshua. "Let's go!" She starts running back the way they came. The Neighborhood Watchman reaches out half-heartedly to restrain her as she passes by, but comes up with nothing but air.
Joshua is up, Watchdog has spent his action for the turn

Joshua follows Sable quickly, but he controls the urge to run as fast as he can and rather stays close to her; whether he did this to protect her or to be protected, he wasn't sure. Nevertheless the clouds that were his body shifted faster, kinda imitating his racing heartbeat. If they had to run faster, he would ready.

|
The old man tries to give chase but his arthritis prevents him from getting anywhere near those damn kids. He shakes a fist menacingly at you both as you run away. Unfortunately for Sable and Joshua, the commotion has called several residents to their windows and porches to see what's happening. "We should split up," Sable says as they exit the neighborhood, then she takes off, leaving Joshua to make his own way.

And Sable was gone before Joshua had the time to properly say good bye. With her gone, however, he could lose all restrains and run like the wind.
After a time he was so lost that he nearly forgot what he was running from, or where he was running to until he ended up at Kyle's place, where he still lived until he found a proper apartment. The buzzing of his phone reminded him of the text message he recieved earlier, and typing his answer he entered the building.
