Neil raised his hands in a gesture of surrendering the point. The Harpy had the right of it; not everyone's opinion mattered. Some people just weren't intelligent. Her example struck hard.

It would be like a grad student trying to slam their professor's lifelong research.

Then again, Kindred society operated along those lines. He recalled a line he had once heard: opinions were like assholes, everyone's got one, but most of them stink. For some reason, it felt... applicable. Only those who mattered in the respective sphere of influence truly had their opinions count. Those people who had gained that influence by some merit or another deserved that right.

    Speaking of which...

"Fair point, Madam Harpy," he said with a grin. "There are always those whose opinions matter more or less, you're quite right."

Neil simply looked somewhat amused as Alice began to speak on Jepsen and Bieber, keeping his thoughts on the subject to himself. As she leaned forward and spoke of country, Neil leaned back into his chair slightly and laughed. "I was getting worried for a moment!"

Alice laughs with Neil, just because laughing feels so good.

Everyone should try it once. Again. Since it seems as if some Kindred have lost all sense of humor.

'Oh please don't! There is nothing to worry about.' The Harpy leans back as well. 'Certainly in here.'
"If you're not having fun, what's the point of living forever?''

Neil's laugh settled into a content grin, and idly, he checked his watch. The night moved quickly, especially in the summer... how unfortunate!

"Madam Harpy, it has been a pleasure seeing you again. Sadly, the morning approaches..." The implication was such that he needed to get going. Sunny days might chase the clouds away, but they also had the unfortunate side effect of toasting him to ashes.

    Good scene, DP! Thanks!
