Official Court - July 1st, 2012
As the announcement stated there was a building in the Old Railway Yard, which had the appearance on the outside of an old mill. There were low lights in the interior and the doors were open. The building was marked with the address on the announcement.
Exterior
Inside the decorum was splendid and had transformed the interior of the old factory into something strange and grand. Inside, where once was the mill workings of cogs and gears and iron beams, there is now an open space, several floors high, forming the main courtyard for tonight. Here the open space that once rang to the sound of toil is a space remodeled for private parties.
This is a Sacramento secret on the silent edge of town.
The architectural design combines relics of the mill’s past with modern steel, brick and wood to create a contemporary, industrial space that beautifully preserves the building’s historic integrity. Weathered masonry walls frame a delightfully unpretentious outdoor courtyard, with other spaces in the building boasting a similarly industrial feel. Subtle patches of lamplight illuminate identify the metal tread of each walkway leading into the courtyard.
Above, on the remaining walls, more dim lighting provides a beautiful ambiance to the area below. Wooden tables with white linen spreads and chairs to match. There are no place markings. People may sit where they please. Upon every table a vase contains long stemmed white roses.
Opposite the entrance and standing free there, surrounded by the circle of tables, is erected a scaffold podium. It stands a man and a half high and is draped on each side with long crimson sheets of velvet. All those who enter will know that the Laws of Elysia apply to this evening.
Courtyard
The decorum and ambiance was put together by Herald Villiers and Mme. Seneschal Donovan.
As always, please break out into side threads once a conversation ensues
