(1206) Summer Coronation

I am gonna move this on, I know that Jag wants to wrap this one soon to get it in the books.

"Thank you everyone." Spartan says raising his hand, "Now for those who wish to swear the oath of our freehold, step forward and we shall do so."

Spartan pauses, waiting for those to step forward and take the oath. "Now, Follow my words." Spartan says

“As the four Seasons come and go, and one ruler changes for another, as is the natural way of things, we shall watch over the Freehold and shape it from the predations of the Others. In return, we ask that you shall follow the rules laid down and never bring danger our society, and in doing so, you shall find your mind stays whole and focused. Break this oath however, and you shall be banished from the land forever.”

From the corner that L'aire had been in with Alec, dancing, she softly applauded after King Spartan had spoke. The contrast of seasonal Monarchs was as vast as the seasons itself. Granted, she still did not know one but oh well. One thing that she saw in the Ogre is that he truly cared for the Freehold.

The Dancer had thought once or twice that the Summer Court had called to her. Yet she was not a fighter. What she was, was passionate about her dancing among other choice movements.

The kissing thing was an interesting touch.

Serreth had a quiet moment of silence to himself as the Summer king finished his speech. He thought briefly of the wife he would probably never see again and a shot of pain stabbed through him. He gathered himself quickly and thought on the Spartan's words. He bowed his head solemnly. Since his escape his closest "friends" had been the restless dead, shades and spirits. He paused a moment in respect of them and then turned his thoughts towards the living friends he was beginning to make in Sacramento.

From her table, Abigail stands and heads for the newly crowned king. Her icy mantle steadly retreating as she grows nearer to his summery prensence. When she stands three steps from the sovereign she greets him with a respectful nod and readies herself to swear the oath.

“As the four Seasons come and go, and one ruler changes for another, as is the natural way of things, we shall watch over the Freehold and shape it from the predations of the Others. In return, we ask that you shall follow the rules laid down and never bring danger our society, and in doing so, you shall find your mind stays whole and focused. Break this oath however, and you shall be banished from the land forever.” She recites after the Lord of Wrath, her words and will binding her to the Freehold.

Silently cursing himself for delaying his duty in order to steal a few more moments with Abigail, the Hunter of the Longest Day strides up to his King and renews his oath. However, he cocks a single silvery eyebrow at Spartan's words. He has heard similar sentiments from three previous Summer sovereigns. It remains to be seen how these proclamations are carried out. He silently hopes that the seasoned warrior hasn't lost sight of what drew them all here to begin with.

Lou did his very best to memorize the words Spartan spoke that he could repeat them with Clarity. He was somewhat glad it was being done in this way - he did not have to worry about having to catch Spartan when he was trying to swear so many in. He firmly repeats the oath.

Perry smiles as he steps away from his conversation with Terri, then makes his way forward when called by Spartan. His eyes scanning the room before coming to rest on the King of Wrath, he says with all of his heart and soul:

The Oath sworn, the lawyer's face was serious and sombre, waiting for Spartan's next direction.

Alec watches to the actual Coronation, and listens to the small speech with great interest. He is not a man to shout Hail the King, but that is because he is not a man to shout.

When the Summer King asks for those to step forward who want to Swear the Oath of the Freehold, Alec's eyebrows arch up as this is a pleasant surprise. 'Well, that makes things easy...' He softly says to L'aire.

Then he approaches Spartan. 'As the four Seasons come and go, and one ruler changes for another, as is the natural way of things, we shall watch over the Freehold and shape it from the predations of the Others. In return, we ask that you shall follow the rules laid down and never bring danger our society, and in doing so, you shall find your mind stays whole and focused. Anya's voice rose, proud and strong with the others as they hailed the King of Summer. The moment was glorious, infectious, and his words resounded inside her with a power that roused the Dragon.

She lowered her hand, turning toward the Metalflesh as his head bowed. He was not one to show overt displays of affection in public, and the kiss managed to take her a little by surprise. Not that she was a woman who did not recover quickly. A teasing smile tugged at her lips.

"So that's what I need to do, to get you to kiss me more often in public.... Get Spartan to make it an order."

Anya pulled back, her yellow eyes playfully delighted.

"Kinky."
