The Savage, the Shadow and the Lord continue here.
Ciara Maskelyne
Blood Potency 4
Striking Looks (European Beauty) 2
*Ciara makes her way down the stairs into Court, pausing a moment to let the crush of Beasts wash over her. One calls back to her own, making the thin Ventrue's Beast raise it's hackles in anger. She soothes the snarling in the back of her mind with a few soft words, turning to watch the Harpy as she walks through the Court.
Ciara debates with herself for a few moments, finally deciding to bite the bullet and play nice. Ciara makes her way over to Alice ( Alice Brown ), her long black dress swaying softly with each step. Once she was close enough to garner the Harpy's attention, she stops; offering Alice a deep bow of her head while waiting for her fellow Kindred to speak first.*
Ciara's Outfit
When Alice notices Ciara she answers her bow with a curtsy almost as respectful. A simple nod wouldn't do her right, because the Ventrue might hold no positions now but her past is not forgotten. 'Madam Maskelyne, a good evening.' The smile is not only polite, the Harpy has always liked the former Harpy in some way. They aren't friends but that doesn't stand in the way of light fascination.
Ciara and Alice continue here...
Unaccompanied now, the Haunt made her way past the other Kindred currently in conversation. There might have been no rest for the wicked, but at least she could have a moments respite to enjoy the atmosphere of Court. Letting her attention pass across the few assembled faces, she wondered if there would be any interesting...unofficial events this evening. The last couple of times had proven relatively active, albeit not for the best reasons.
Insofar as Josephine was aware, none of the Kindred currently in the room were particularly prone to huge public faux pas, so perhaps tonight would pass by quietly.
She stifled her Beast's urge to savage the others, silencing its desire with a practised ease as the made her way across the space to @Dillon Connery. It was rather infrequent that the Deacon and the Paladin had the opportunity to converse in Court, with the Gangrel being whipped away by those eager to converse.
But the night was still young.
"Good evening, Deputy Connery," the Haunt greeted with a smile.
Since she had been told that attendance to Court was rather mandatory, Aileen had had to manage her schedule so as to be free from her shift that night. Hopefully, she would get to meet the two people she needed to, but she dared not hope it would be priceless. She almost walked back to her spa as she watched the queue in front of Avalon, but once again, her choice was really very limited, so she stepped in, and waited. As last, she managed to enter the club, and headed straight downstairs, where she knew she would find more of her kind.
Walking down the stairs for the second time, she felt her Beast stir at the large congregation below, and stopped walking. She so needed to compose herself... Once satisfied she had it in check, the Mekhet resumed her descent.
A small brunette with short hairs in a black dress entered the room, and was nearly stunned by the number of Kindred. She spotted Deputy Connery, who was the only known face in the crowd, but he was already talking with a blonde woman looking very well-groomed. Stepping aside the entrance, she did exactly what she expected to do: nothing. Aileen stood there, and waited until either the Deputy would be free, or Herald Villiers would come. Otherwise, she'd just leave as she had come, silent and alone.
Grand Wyrm Max Heinz
Presence 3 (Loveable Goofball)
Mask of Tranquility
*Max makes his way down into Court, decked out in his usual Court outfit. Normally he pauses to let the crush of Beasts wash over his own, but tonight there was a curious new visitor to distract him. The growls of stronger Beasts and the whimper of lesser ones fail to get a rise out of the Beast Max kept so tightly shackled; his attention on the unknown woman who had planted herself near the entrance to Court.
Sensing no Beast from the small woman, Max wasn't sure if she were a mortal or one of his Family. There was one way to find out though. He makes his way over to Aileen ( Bigpaw ), offering her a nod of the head in greeting.*
Excuse me, Ma'am. Are you lost, or just waiting? *His tone was light and inquisitive; if she were a mortal he didn't want to frighten her before he could shuffle her back upstairs.*
Nathaniel still was not sure why he had left the comfort of his abode this evening. He loathed, utterly loathed doing so. Atleast when the task at hand had some measure of urgency or importance he could justify it to some degree. But not tonight. There was no domain official to talk to this evening. Tonight he had come simply to mingle, a realisation that was met only with a wave of near nausea.
With a sigh that could only be described as defeatist, the Ventrue took a moment for the animal within to settle itself amidst the vicious tide that swept over him. So many predators, most weaker, some on par and a few even stronger than his own. It took considerable effort to just resist the temptation to skittle safely back to his own little web. Regardless, he advanced into the Elysia, taking note of those present.
There were few faces here he could call familiar, and those that he recognised seemed occupied. He moved towards the east-most wall, clasping his hands behind his back as his dead eyes stared blankly forward, focused on nothing in particular.
Zach Griffiths steps out of the elevator, ready to meet some more people. There was a cute couple ( Bigpaw , Mykel ) standing just outside the elevator, but they weren't his concern. He strolled leisurely past them, glad now that he had a decent wardrobe to choose a suit from. Last court had been the end of a long journey, and now he was properly dressed and presentable. He also had two wine bottles, dark liquid swirling in them. Yes, much better than last court.
The thing weighing most heavily on his mind was Dillion's suggestion to get to know the local clan, so Zach keeps an eye out for anyone at the clan meeting. He spots Dr. Swift ( Dr Robert Swift ) and James Calloway ( Lokio ) both engaged in conversation, as well as the Priscus himself ( Wolven Pryde ).
Well, best get down to business. Better start with James and Mr. Rodriguez.
Zach makes his way over to the pair, and speaks when the conversation allows.
"Good evening, Mr. Calloway, Deputy Rodriguez. I trust court finds you well?"
Walking distinctly to the eastern wall of the commons, Chase Ankers makes his way towards Monsieur l’Aubespine ( Cameron ) at a leisurely pace. The Lord, regal in his countenance, doesn't appear pleased, though Chase has yet to see a different expression cross the man's semblance save indifference. Still, he had hoped to find a free moment to get to know the man more since their initial meeting some months ago.
"Monsieur l’Aubespine, how splendid it is to see you again," Chase addresses Nathaniel cheerily, despite the turning of his own stomach as the weight of the Beast fell upon him. He tried his best not to show fear, as it may only agitate the greater predator.
