Magnus turns to see his Queen enter the room. He is at once seemingly comforted by her Mantle and presence and discomfited at the same time. He nods to her question, making a sound of acknowledgement somewhere between a grunt and whisper. He does not say anything, simply stands attentive.
Before he could say anything else, Smudge felt the sudden drop in temperature and swallowed hard. When the Winter Queen made her presence felt, Smudge bowed, motes of snow flakes that looked like dandruff flakes fluttering from his shoulders.
As the cold beauty of the Winter Queen stepped through the mirror, the Fairest Dancer gave Katrin a graceful bow. She felt the chill through her bones and knew they were in the presence of the Monarch. L'aire sometimes wondered in Vegas if David Copperfield was one of their own.
Perhaps I could learn to do the amazing mirror appearance one day...
Nora noticed a voices hushing and the temperature dropping just slightly. She followed the direction the others were looking in and saw the beautiful woman from the Spring Coronation step gracefully through an ornate mirror against the back wall. The Winter Queen. Her Queen. Immediately, her shoulders dropped, her hands clasped and she lowered her eyes. This was a woman who weilded power and demanded her deference.
"Yes and no. I dwelt here in the past, but am newly arrived back," the Darkling had managed to reply to L'aire before the waft of cold entered the room and the Queen appeared. Rea hurriedly placed her refreshment down, managing not to spill, and then slipped down onto her knees, head bowed, fully genuflecting herself before the Ruler of her court.
As Dominyk was mulling over the tang and taste of the spiked lemonade he felt the chill of the room. As Her Majesty Winter arrived, he almost expected the winter from whence she had come to ice over, or to see the glass in the room suddenly sprout the tell-tale ice fern drawings of Jack Frost.
His own breath grew dragon-like, as each humid puff manifested itself in the chilled air. The flowering raised his glass to the queen, and dipped into a bow where he stood.
As the Queen enters the room, Degnar sets down his glass of lemonade on the table nearby. Her presence is somewhat unsettling, yet entrancing at the same time. After a few seconds, the Darkling then performs a bow for his Sovereign, showing her the respect she deserves. He holds the bow for a few seconds and then returns to his normal position, without saying a word.
Both Harvey and Swilla offer their respects, bowing their heads politely as the Queen makes her presence known to the gathering at large. After giving her a nod, the Sun Banisher glances around the room, doing a quick scan of the situation just in case. Swilla stops eating whatever he was eating, paying his attention to Queen Byeli for now. After all, the food will still be there waiting for him.
Katrin looks around the room, offering a nod in response to the gestures offered by those around her. She makes eye contact with each person there. "It pleases me to see our numbers have grown, yes?" says the Fairest to no on in particular, perhaps more of an outspoken observation. "I have requested your presence here today so we can discuss a few important matters," says Katrin, taking a brief pause as she watches the reactions around the room. "But also so we can meet each other, put a name to the face goes the saying, no?"
With those words she scans the crowd once more, a moment of silent observation. "With that said, let's start with introductions, yes?" says the Queen, her flawless eyes sparking just a bit in the soft lights in the room. "I am Katrin Byeli, Queen of the Silent Arrow, which I'd expect you know by now." She takes a brief pause, looking around the room once more.
"I've been in this Freehold for longer than most, and at times the only member of the Silent Arrow in the city," says the Fairest in a cold and calculated tone, her expression as neutral as always. "Let's have you go next, no?" says Katrin as she glances towards the small Wizened girl in the corner ( Zoobaroo ).
