Taking wing

She dipped backwards into a dive that led her into the trees as she sought for the updraft that she had felt before. She heard the chimes and then the wolf howl and her hawk’s head snapped up. There was something familiar in the way the spell felt, but she tried to push it off anyway.

This isn't Song, it's not always going to be a helping spell.

She felt the bolster, it would help. And at least that meant he was actually looking for a fair spar, and she still had a few tricks up her sleeve. She began to work her own spell, something she had only recently managed to figure out, West would be proud. So would Song, despite that she had given away first blood.

She turned out of the slalom she had been moving in and unleashed another scream at the Thyrsus.

The Thyrsus wheels around to face into Vae's dive. He'd given her an opening, a chance to attack without retaliation. After letting it slip past, she wouldn't get another. Again he pecks at her as they pass, still making no effort to avoid her return strike. He'd given her the benefits she needed, but if she want to draw blood, she still had to earn it.

All this pecking from Animus was totally un-hawklike. Any birdwatcher would have seen something wrong with the fight. There must be something wrong with him, or perhaps he was more of an earth dweller.

At the sharp pain she experienced yet again, she flipped back and used her talons to jab at the Thyrsus’ neck. Before taking off again under and past him before rising slightly again.

Ahriman finally had gotten high enough and he locks on them. The senses he still held in his pattern gave him a good idea of where they were, and the eyes of the hawk made this next move easy.

He closes his eyes and slowly turns himself over and into a dive, letting his wings fold as he speeds towards vae, thinking in his mind about speed and strength, adjusting little with his tail.

He swoops past and there would be a tugging on Vaes tail feathers as he snaps his head out to tug a the down just above the important bits. A reminder, Animus might seem weak but he had friends she needed to be aware of.

He flares his wings swoops upwards and settles just ahead of animus, floating on a near by updraft.

The swipe connects, but still barely leaves a scratch. The Thyrsus nearly launches himself at Vae again, but stops short as another shape cuts across his vision. Eyes narrow, aand he emits an angered squak ... directly at Ahriman. It doesn't any knowledge of birds at all to pick up the meaning. Back. Off.

Rather than jumping back into the fray, he continues to circle, watching the Mastigos for any further signs of aggression.

Ahriman screams back, floating, before he turns and speeds out of sight. Flying as far and as fast as he can away from the others. Its obvious by the movement he is angry, or some variant there of.

'Ay, ay, a scratch, a scratch; marry, 'tis enough. '

He thinks as he moves away, swooping and circling on his own, leaving the two others to their foolish fight. He had been silly to even try to get involved and he would lower himself no more.

'well now.' came the thoughts of his daemon, red hot, violent and feeling of blood. 'Aren't we a Fox whose tasted sour grapes?'

'Shut up.'

The tug at her tail surprised her, it was a dirty trick and one that could totally throw off her ability to change direction. She screeched at Ahriman when she managed to get her flight back on a level course.

She shakes her head and looks down at Animus before beating her wings again, she dives towards the Thrysus. The whole thing was partial training exercise, if nothing else, it would be more correct for Ahriman to attack Animus instead.

She was targeting his wing, her talons flashed as she attacked before flying past him in pursuit of the Mastigos. Perhaps a little retaliation for that tail-pull.

Ahriman lazily rolled to the side, moving past vae striking out with his claw and grabbing her underside and scoring deeply, but not deep enough to really hurt, just to show her he could fight back. He pushes off away from her, leading her into the trees.

So that’s what it’ll be then? A change of game. She thought, after feeling the flash of pain. She looped for a moment looking at the Thyrsus.

Sure the rough-housing is fun, but it’s time to include everyone. She chierped at the circling not-hawk to join in the predator's chase. Then she pushed herself forward to catch the sneaky one. Agility, she could do that.

The Thyrsus watches Ahriman go, wings drooping. It was all wrong, he hadn't ment to ...

A flicker of movement, the other hawk descending on him. At the last instant, he lets his armor fall away, taking the full brunt of the attack. Didn't he deserve to be hurt, for the pain he'd caused?

His flight wobbles for a few seconds from the sudden cut into his wing, but he soon rights himself, taking up the chase as well, the slight twinge of each wingbeat a reminder of the damage he'd caused.
