Taking wing

[Animus]

A quick nod, eyes flicking back to Vae. "Especially among our kind. But that just makes it more worth fighting for." As he continues walking, he reaches out to run a hand through passing tree branches. "I'm always worried telling people about the connections I've forged with animals. Afraid I'll be judged. But if I'd stayed walled up, ... we wouldn't be here, I suppose."

He finally comes to a stop, eyes flicking to Ahriman and back. "We're far enough, no one's going to wander through here. Ready to fly?"

[Iblardora]

Ahriman listens and then nods.

"Trust in the arrow, we will always get you through. " he looks over at Animus "Ready when you are my dear Thyrsus. "

[Vae]

“Ain’t that the truth.” Vaeltia said, absently as her thoughts caught her up on a different tangent. She realized then, she had just been following along, walking where they had walked, only being led along. Her eyes widened at the thought, before she forcibly stifled the urge to run or draw a weapon she didn’t have on her.

She breathed out a half-sigh to focus her mind. She thought back to Song and that first time on the skyscraper. This should be easier right? Even if it was two Males at least they were Arrows. “Ditto.”

[Animus]

With a brief nod, the Thyrsus draws on the Supernal, wrapping threads of Life around the three of them to change what was, flesh remolding itself into the likeness of the hawk. With a happy "caw", he scampers out of his clothing and takes flight, circling over the other two as he waits for them to do the same.

At the sudden flux of chimes in her ear, Vaeltia’s breath caught and she let her eyes drift closed as she let herself be changed. She pushed her way out of the black dress and ‘jumped’ free of it.

She looked at the other two, then began flexed her feathers, checking them, her wings spread wide as if for take off before she closed them.

For an instant the Thyrsus considers buzzing Vae, like he had Ahriman, but quickly discards it. He'd seen her nervousness, and didn't want to worsen that. Instead he lands next to her, cocking his head to the side with a curious chirp.

[Iblardora]

Ahriman makes a slight caw as he removes himself from his shirt. He doesn't do a wonderful job of it and ends up tumbling head over talons back wards from his shirt. He caws again and stands shifting his feathers lightly with his beak as he gets used to the new way of sensing.

Looking sideways at Vae he moves over to her and clicks slightly with his beak, before spreading his wings and flapping once, blowing air at her in play.

[Vae]

Vaeltia turned her head to the hawk that was the hierarch. And then to the wind that Ahriman had blown at her. She would have smirked if she could have, instead she stood the majestic hawk. She let her own chiding “ischira” at them.

She knew what the lungs of a hawk could do, the sound that they could make. She opened her own wings again, and then with a few short beats of her wings she took to the air.

It felt natural, it felt right. She and the predator’s form, she climbed into the sky, her instincts searching for that warm updraft so she wouldn’t have to work to rise.

[Animus]

A moment later, Animus launches himself back into the air, glad to see Vae was taking to this naturally ... and with a sense of humor. For a moment, he simply soars ever higher, revelling in the whistling of the wind, the expanse of forest below him, and the heady rush of surrendering himself to the animal's instincts.

Before long, those instincts have him searching the ground. The need to fly translated into a high metabolism, and it had been a long time since breakfast. But even so, he sneaks occasional glances toward his two companions, to see how hey're doing. If birds had had the facial structure for it, he'd be smiling right now.

Ahriman wonders when they are going to do a running exercise and hop jumps a few times trying to get off the ground. He finally finds his wings and moves up wards following. He screeches to let the others know he was good and then continues.
