The mist is cool on the changelings' skin as they enter the fog bank. The coolness more gives an impression of moisture than any actual increase in humidity, and there is no immediate condensation on any of their gear or clothing. Underneath the coolness of the mist there is an almost warm movement in the air and a hint of a sweet perfume. It is as if the fog promises an early spring morning, but is not quite there itself.
Almost immediately the fog swirls around the Lost and it slowly thickens into a veritable pea-soup reminiscent of the famous London fogs off of the Thames River. The Lost can still see each other, but visibility drops off rapidly after a few yards. All of this combined leaves none of the intrepid Changelings in doubt that this fog is not natural. Something rather fae is at play here.
ST Note: Instead of trying to coordinate a search using teamwork, please narrate what your character is doing as normal, and then make an appropriate roll. I will be keeping a running tally of successes for each character and for the group as a whole. As benchmarks are reached individuals and the group may make discoveries based on for what and how your are searching.
Appropriate rolls will include Int + Investigation to examine the area or search for clues, Int + Survival to navigate through the fog to specific locations etc., Wits + Survival to detect scents and sounds and follow them. Any roll based on searching, perception, or examination will receive a -4 environmental penalty due to the poor lighting and extremely thick fog.
Of course, I encourage all of you to interact with each other and perhaps coordinate your efforts. Each roll will represent approximately 5 minutes in the fog. This means you have 2 or 3 rolls before dawn begins, and an unknown number of rolls after that before the fog dissipates, ending the search.
