11PM. There is, of course, not a living soul at the public pool. And no unliving souls for that matter. Which suits Olivette just fine, as a way to spend the night off from her regular duties. She takes her place at one of the small diving podiums, wearing a one-piece swimsuit that, although prudish compared to a bikini, would still draw her looks from just about anything with a Y chromosome. And most things with an X chromosome, but that wasn't so bad. Olivette breathed deep, cycling her lungs, letting herself hear nothing but the sound of her own beating heart. She dives in, and slices her way through the water, creating only minimal disturbance on the calm surface of the pool. She ignores the pool's chemicals stinging her eyes, and concentrates herself purely on the other side.

Arriving at the end of the pool, Olivette neatly flips herserf over in the water, and uses the edge to push herself out. Halfway to the other end of the pool, her arms start burning he telltale burn of weariness. She hated to admit it, but his schedule left her little time to keep fit. It kept her flexible, sure, but not exactly fit. And it's not like she could exercise with him present. Whenever he was around, whenever she could so much as smell him, she could hardly think about anything but him for ten seconds. She idly wonders if he knows just how distracting he is.

She stops after the second pool length, only swimming enough to keep herself steadily in place. But here, she thinks, I can finally think of something other than him, not realizing that she is, in fact, thinking of him.

She launches herself once more, managing a third length of the pool before she decides to call it a day, partly because of exhaustion, and partly from being unfocused. Night off or not, she had to work. Asa could only be happy if she managed to make progress in the middle of her night to herself.
