Martha limps with as much grace as she can muster. Using her cane as little as she dare. But, she is still getting used to her new C-Leg and her gracefulness is impeded by her conscious efforts at elegance.
Turning to smile to Lucia and Daymian as they reach the quieter margin of the Court area, leaning hard on her cane, the small English lady appraises Lucia's attire once more in a friendly manner...
Court manners still not his forte he had wanted to escort the Herald on his arm as he had before so she could walk gentler without use of the cane as they moved to the side. But he didn't know if her station forbid such or if he should have. His arm had started to rise but the Herald had been quick to move. He sighs inwardly le sigh. And once he had finished escorting Lucia he continued to be silent, oh man I hope I haven't done something wrong so she intends to rebuke me and that would be why we were pulled off to the side... and of course once he thought that he instinctively tenses a little.
Lucia made sure to slow Daymain and gave the Herald a steps length of room with which to lead them. The importance of the moment was not lost on her and when they reached the far side of the room she curtsied, it was a simple but elegant. There was a hint of comfort and practice in the movement; practice from long hours in finishing school as a child. Her father had seen to that.
The Herald or rather Martha was sweet looking, almost cloying even. She was a girl’s girl, a man’s girl; a wounded dove with a hobbled wing. Or that was how she seemed. What cemented this more than anything was her silence, she had no noise and as they drew away from the crowd Lucia relaxed. The only noise she felt was from Daymain, it was far from being white noise and confined in the background but was manageable.
“I love your hair. Maybe it’s the French in me, but a woman who can pull off a pompadour has presence,” she smiled and gave a playfully serious nod, “ and style.” Lucia brushed a lone curl behind her ear. “Thank you for taking the time Herald Villiers.” she said taking cue from Daymain.

Tiny Martha nodded and smiled to Lucia as she listened and seemed happy to hear her complimentary and charming words; "You are very welcome, Miss Lucia...and thank you!" she chirps cheerfully, carefully, and leaning on her cane, she sneaks another look to Lucia's shoes and legs for a moment before looking to Daymian and offering him a cheerful smile to reassure him, sharing the smile soon after with Lucia. "Before we proceed at a pace, do either of you have any immediate questions you wish to ask me?" she offers with wide eyed friendliness.
Daymian's smile returns and is barely concealed friendly mirth. Herald Villiers knew only to well he probably has far to many questions. This however was for Lucia's benefit not his.
Do you think Herald Villiers that the Archon would forgive me if I were to introduce myself to my Hierophant before I introduce myself to her? She seems to be close to the Prince as I assume her duty requires and I do not wish to approach close enough to do so nor would I wish to gather her ire by calling her to me. Having seen the looks Miss Villiers gives towards peoples shoes and legs his insides fill with not pity but respect for the little lady. “Awe, if you must go.”she nodded. “But know your reputation goes unblemished with you Mr. Daymain, it was a pleasure.” Lucia gave a short bow and a playful wink. She paused a moment to give Martha space to talk, so that they wouldn’t be tripping over one another.
“No immediate questions Herald Villiers. Tomorrow Avalon would be perfect, thanks for taking the time. I am available at your leisure.” She shifted slightly to give Martha line of site to staging area and to give Daymain a small but genuine wave goodbye.

Listening happily to Daymian, Martha nods sweetly and bashfully to acknowledge his unexpected invite to dance. "Bold, sir...but that does sound delightful, thank you, sir! I hope to see you later!" she chirps in reply, offering him a happy and friendly wave as he returns to the party.
Turning her attention to Lucia, she smiles again. "As Herald and Mistress Keeper, miss, I must ask that you hold still for just a moment...as I am responsible for the security of this Elysia, it would be incredibly negligent of me to fail to examine your auric emanations. I mention this to you so you aren't offended by the fact that I must now stare intently at you!" she smiles, her tone remaining friendly. "Once that is done I should hope we may enjoy a brief talk. Please hold still!" another happy smile. Martha begins to focus her powers of Auspex upon Lucia.
Martha's efforts to read Lucia's Aura are in vain. With a brief pout, tiny Martha shakes her head in obvious dismay. Rarely having encountered such powerful resistance. Martha's words are low in volume and gentle in tone, "Goodness me, miss! Your defenses against my investigation are powerful and robust...I trust you have not set in place these defenses to somehow thwart my examination! Whilst such defense will normally serve you well against opponents, I must ask that you permit me to now enter your thoughts and mind...trust me when I say I mean you no harm and you will be welcome if you come in peace. But please do not resist my examination." she smiles again, her tone is a happy and remains friendly. Martha watches carefully to await Lucia's reaction.
(This is all before the examination) Daymians smile grows at the Heralds words. He had been hoping she would say yes. He bows to each woman, thank you for the opportunity Herald Villiers I think that we should enjoy ourselves even more than last time.
He turns to Miss Lucia before leaving. My lady Lucia it has been an honor and pleasure to meet you as well. I hope to see you later, we can set up a time and place to meet so I may escort you tomorrow if is still pleases you.
As he walks away, the women may notice his gait while still graceful has a bit more bounce than usual. He was in such good spirits.

Appearing as if to replace the charming Daeva in his absence, Chase appears, wearing a disarming smile and bowing carefully to Martha. "Good evening, esteemed and beauteous Herald. My apologies if I'm interrupting but I have a question for you. You're watching a stage play, a banquet is in progress, the guests are enjoying an appetizer of raw oysters..." he begins, quoting a line that was addressed to her character. His expression is playful, the dangling dreads swaying about his head while in mid-bow. He is curious how she answers.

Martha allowed Lucia a moment to gather her composure and give some thought to her reply, a happy smile was given to the departing Daymian and an equally happy smile is offered to Chase. "Ah, good evening, sir! a delight to see you again! I do hope you are well...and thank you for the use of the word beauteous!" she seems bashful at that, adding meekly, " ...you are just in time to avoid interrupting...plus, I much prefer oysters to boiled dog! Having eaten dog several times in the past, I can swear to that first hand, sir!" she giggles merrily. Wide blue eyes, eyes that would pass most Voight-Kampf Tests, brightly fix on Chase.
Turning to Lucia, she asks; "May I be excused a moment...Mr Ankers perhaps has an additional question to ask. Maybe it shall be about turtles or spiders..." she smiles and, conscious she didn't want to be distracted for too long, asks Chase, "Mr Ankers..." she begins to introduce him to Lucia, "please allow me to introduce Miss Lucia, Miss Lucia...this is Mr Chase Ankers. Mr Ankers, I am certain he shall not mind my saying, is an adventurous soul and a positive wizard when it comes to things electrical and pertaining to the mysteries of ensuring computational machines do as they are told!!" her tone throughout is one of sincere friendliness and good humor.
