(Dark Deeds) Healing Hands

True to her word, Doctor Powell had called ahead to let her staff know that a special casualty was on the way. Knowing some of the circumstances surrounding who would be arriving with the injured man, Thomas Roth had prepped a side room so they could have privacy.

He waited outside the building, as he had not long ago to meet Herald Villiers. The building itself was not a typical hospital-type structure, but that was perhaps for the best. It was glass-fronted, of course, but discrete and set back behind trees. There was a distinct aura of privacy about the place. At this time of night, of course, it was relatively quiet anyway. There was no Emergency Room, so unless there was a sudden earthquake, there shouldn't be a rush of patients.

Dillon arrives with the others as low-key as is possible for the old car. That is to say, it's still loud, but the Gangrel behind the wheel avoided driving like a maniac getting there. He certainly didn't need any more attention from the police tonight.

Pulling the car's passenger side up to the curb, the Deputy kills the engine, and is around to the other side quickly. He'd grown very accustomed to opening the other door too as a matter of chivalry, but this is a situation that he hadn't been in for a while. "Alright," he says calmly to Andy more than Tracy, "rough part's almost over."

Looking back to the clinic, Dillon hesitates before grabbing the mortal, wondering if the knowledgeable staff he was told to expect might have a tip or two on how to make this easier on the man.

Tracy casts a quick glance at the clinic as they pull up to it, unsure of what to expect. She is ready to help Dillon move Andy out of the car and then a thought comes to mind. "Umm, do you think they may have a stretcher or something like that?" she asks her Priscus. "It would certainly make it easier to move him, and it would probably cause him less discomfort."

While the Gangrel was by no means an expert on the subject, she is young enough to remember a couple of times when she had to go to the hospital due to some motorcycle accidents. She recalls being carried on a stretcher, so she figures they should find one for Andy as well.

Andy had tried to keep as still and quiet as possible. His mind was active with struggling with pain and wondering if he'd stumbled into some kind of cult or some kind of undercover FBI unit. Dillon and Tracy had that sort of commanding and intimidating presence of law enforcement. These guys seem to know just what to do. They get things done But...unable to focus his pain riddled thoughts for long, Andy lay back and held his hands on his wounds as hard as he dare.

As the car pulled to halt, Andy risked looking up with a frown. Sweat dripping from him. It doesn't look like the sort of place you'd find a cult. The office had a sort of Burn Notice and Alias vibe. Comforted that he might be getting rescued by the Good Guys, Andy smiled to Tracy as best he could and tried to steel himself for more pain. He wanted to vomit now and fought hard to keep his bile under control.

Thomas stepped just outside as the Kindred and the injured man approached. Both he and a nurse were wheeling out a stretcher. He didn't know the status of the man, but the Doctor had been very insistent, which probably meant it was at least potentially bad. And well, if he hadn't been good at following her instructions, he was pretty sure he wouldn't have been tolerated. And would probably be in the morgue.

"Alright, what happened?" Roth questioned, his manner professional. He moved across to the man.

"Stabbed repeatedly in the front torso," is about all that Dillon can say about the situation or the wounds with any confidence, but that he does. "I'm not sure how long he was down. Miss Burns here is the one who found him."

The Deputy realizes that he might just be in the way trying to help them get Andy out of the car, but he is there, and attentive to instruction should either of the mortals need his assistance. He isn't stupid enough to insist on being in the middle of everything, though. He wants Andy alive, even if just to help justify the trouble he and Tracy have went to for him.

Tracy nods in agreement to Dillon's words and then adds, "he was actually not down when I found him...he was running away from who I can only assume was the attacker, holding on to his chest and breathing heavily." She turns her attention from the men outside the car to Andy, placing a hand softly on his.

"Everything is gonna be ok now. We've got you some help," she whispers to him in an attempt to sound reassuring.

Andy smiles through the pain and confusion as Tracy offers her smile to him. Right now, she could say they'll have to dip him in acid to help: her voice, her words, her presence...she made everything right. A weak nod confirms his understanding. He steels himself with the remainder of his strength for the lifting and movement ahead and into the sanctuary of the surgery. His smile turns to a look of manly resolve. Not wanting to show weakness now in front of anyone present. He wanted to vomit, but was afraid to lose what had been given to him.

Once Roth and the nurse had aided Andy in getting secure on the stretcher, the clinic manager waved away the nurse and the patient.

"Room 4 is already prepped," Thomas instructed. Clearly he was being speedy and efficient, which was to be expected from someone Doctor Powell had chosen to be the face of her business.

"You're going to be fine, sir."

Once the three of them are alone, Roth turned to the two Kindred. "Is there anything else I need to know?" It's clear he isn't asking just to sate some idle curiousity, but in case there is something they may not have felt comfortable mentioning in front of the nurse or the patient.

Dillon does a quick check of the street before speaking, just for the sake of caution, before relaying to Doctor Jo's assistant the fun stuff. "He's been given quite a bit of blood. Hers." He points a glance to Tracy, though it's probably unnecessary. "And he's acting like he might already be addicted." Of course that is mostly their problem, not Roth's, but you never know when it might come up.

While he fills the man in on the last part, the Gangrel Deputy moves around to the back of his El Camino, unlocking the bed cover to retrieve something from inside. A duffel bag. He unzips the main compartment, digs around, and produces a shirt. The thin, athletic style that one might wear jogging in the summer, or to the gym. After replacing the bag, he locks the bed cover back, and walks around.

Serious the mood might be, but this is Dillon Connery. He nonchalantly tosses the thing straight at Tracy's head.

It smells faintly of Kiss brand cologne.
