As his fingers start rapping across the keyboard he takes another drag and begins mumbling to himself. "Damn cheap ass dinosaur. Who the fuck uses '98 anymore." As he pecks away it doesn't take long for the security to crumble and Val smirks at the success.

Lobby Area
When Trask checks the door, it’s locked. Even peeking through the cracks only leads to darkness on the other side.
Valentine would see a horribly messy screen, hard to decipher anything on it or what was used last. But a computer guy would know what to do….
Second Floor
The room was on the second floor of the dingy and filthy hallway. Carpets hadn’t been cleaned in few years and still wreaked of cigarette smoke. Upon seeing the door to room 39, it looked like all the other ones.

Standing before the door, Garth takes a moment to glance around the hallway and at the door. "Do you hear anything?" He asks Richard because he doesn't nor does he notice anything that could be considered out of the ordinary given that this is coming across as a cheap motel.
Larkin Trask narrowed his eyes as he pulled out his lockpicks and began to pick the door with patience and skill. If he was in the same room as Valentine, he would phase back into view from obfuscation and say, "Valentine. Good to see you guys made it. Found anything interesting?" He gave the man a slight smile. "I've been covering you guys for the last little bit." He said as he picked the lock.

Richard just looks at Garth blankly, his bored expression not changing, for a good few seconds. "all i hear is the sound of my eternity being wasted in a cheap-ass motel..." he reorts without thinking.
Richard shrugs. still not hearing anything that might indicate anything worth mentioning.
"i didn't hear anything. but lets see if anyones in?" he says waiting for garth to unlock the door. by god i could use a drink... he thinks to himself ..no wait.. hang on, i mean by the dark father, shit i gotta stop doing that.. if he kept makeing those kinds of mistakes the circle of the crone in Sacramento would never take him seriously and he knew it. "lets take a look inside this shit-hole of a room, take a cheeky snack if the opportunity should arise and get back to the others ..sound cool? " he asked leaning against the doorway with a broad grin.
Seeing the cluttered screen Val rolls his eyes. "Dear God." He rubs his forehead and then begins to search for any protected or encrypted files. Hoping that somewhere on this electronic abacus there is something useful, Val hammers away at the keyboard. "Why don't I get paid for this shit anymore?"

Lobby Area
As the lock clicks open after Trask had picked it the opening door would reveal a staircase to a basement. The lights were off and it was hard to see even with the light from the lobby shining down.
Valentine would know to go to the recent docs area on the start menu. As he pulled it up, he found a word document containing information about Matt Denning, or lack thereof. It contained information about the back account that was searched. Matt Denning had been dead for over two years. However, the records of the POS motel said he was in previously that week. Someone had stolen an identity… poorly. That was about the only thing of interest, unless you counted his folder of porn. (Yeah sorry can't roll for that lol)

Well at least light switches were always in the same spot.

Giving a final nod to Valentine, Trask closed the door quietly and said, "I'm going to check down here. We've got a basement." He opened the door, then focused his Blood to make him fade from view. A few seconds later, he brought his Heightened Senses to bear, allowing him to see in the dark. His hand on his blade's hilt, he was ready to draw if anything happened down there. He would go down the stairs slowly, carefully, quietly -- trying to give himself as much warning as possible for any traps or problems that may lie ahead.

Garth moves and flips on the lightswitch. He gives the room a quick scan before stepping in to get a closer look at everything. Well, what did I really expect? He muses to himself as stops to the right of the door within the room.
"A lot a fucking good that does me." Val rises from the computer and unplugs it from the outlet. Not bothering to actually turn off the relic properly.
Picking up the shotgun, he walks to the stairs to the basement and looks down, relying on his heightened senses to show him more than the obfuscated mass of pirate he hoped was still down there.
