After Lance escorts the Harpy to her private meeting, he heads to the other meeting room with a small stack of folders that he leafs through after removing his jacket and tie, while he waits for Alice Brown to arrive.
With big yet elegant steps does Alice arrive at the meeting room. She wears a short black dress and heels that make her say: Fuck the Winter! Being a vampire makes it all possible.
'Deputy Rayner.' She says with a nod as a greeting. 'I'm glad I could fit somewhere in your schedule.' The wink reassures that the Whip is by no means offended.
Alice
Lance snaps his folder shut with a smile as he stands for the lady. "My apologies Whip Brown, but work comes before pleasure." He gestures at the seats "Please, sit. Tell me how I can help you. How is the shake up at Ember going?"
'Oh really? Well, we can't agree on everything of course.' A nonchalant shrug and Alice sits down. She smiles pleasantly to her fellow Daeva. 'What to say? Ember really is the city's hottest club I think, and still improving. But that's a different matter than why I asked for a meeting.'
Yet, about it, Alice wishes she could hear the boss' thoughts as he sees the month's profit calculation. She folds her hands together. 'I don't have the feeling I still know our whole family, which is sad for a Whip. So, I plan to organize a non-official Clan meeting. You've proven to come with excellent ideas lately, hence my call.' She wonders if Lance has the same problem. Maybe he saw more new arrivals while guarding Ariana?
'Naturally, my first thought is to hold it at Club Ember, since I'm free to do as I wish there. But I'm open for suggestions. Any first thoughts before I share some ideas?'
Lance raises an eyebrow at her opinion of duty. "Not everyone can be as flexible as you, I guess. But thank you for the complement." Lance considers the Whip's request. "Well I'd have to ask, what is the statement you want to make with this?"
Alice's expression stays flat when Lance speaks of flexibility. More happens inside her head. Wrong, everybody can be as flexible. It depends on how much you think your freedom is worth. She also thinks about the statement. To who could it be? To Twist as a middle finger, "we can have meetings even if you don't organize them", no that wouldn't make any sense. Such statements are for Carthians.
Then what's left is the whole clan. 'I wasn't really thinking of a special statement more than just that we are one clan, one family. This is just our private moment of socialization.'
"So traditional family themes then? Since this is an excuse to get to know each other better... hm." Lance strokes his chin in thought. He wondered, privately, if a game of truth or dare or maybe strip poker was out of the question. "I don't know if you'd want it to be a costume event, especially just after Court. Maybe masks for a touch of mystery? Or do you think that would interfere with getting to know everyone?"
'Well, themes are always fun. Especially for us social predators.' At least Alice could hope everyone liked themed parties, with Court such hope would be in vain. 'There could be a subtle dress code, if costumes are over the top right now? Like. Red.' Blood?
With a smile she thinks. 'Though personally I say we should think about a theme first. Masks are okay, but shouldn't be compulsory.' With the exception of a Masquerade of course... and one could never have enough Masquerade parties.
"Well for themes..." He considers what he knows about the Whip and his Family. "There's always the traditional family affair, sin and vice. I don't know how much of that you want to bring into your club though. I've heard of murder mystery parties, that might be something fun. Or what about something french and elegant? I'm sure you have some first hand knowledge of that?"
Alice nods as she thinks about the several options.'Oh french and elegant, yes, it should be the theme for regular Courts.' A soft chuckle, but wouldn't that be great? She is sure everyone somehow acts different, more stylish. 'Sin and Vice leave more space open for creativity, and it gives everyone something to choose from. We have the seven deadly sins...'
'and what about murder mystery parties?' Advanced Cluedo? Or real life Kindred cluedo?
