Yata's Dreams

Mr. Bates quirks an eyebrow at Tally's curiosity, taking a moment before responding. "Well, without having a dreaming pledge with the subject we really don't have any other option than to walk the Skein in order to enter their dreams," he states flatly. "Like I was explaining before, there are two different methods to do this. The safer route involves a process that would tell me when the subject would have an appropriate dream for us to enter, which is why it can take much longer."

The Wizened then turns to address the rest of the group. "I can still try to find out how long we would have to wait, unless you all prefer to get this over with and use the other method," he says in hopes that he may still be able to talk some sense into them.

However, Hana frowns at his attempts. "But you said that we may need to waits days, maybe even weeks! Yata is running out of time, I really don't think we can wait that long," she says to Mr. Bates before turning to Terri and Al, hoping that they will continue to support the idea of taking the quicker route.

[Al-Adin]

"Tell us how long it will take. If its too long, we'll go the hard way. But if we can go today or tommorow, then we can wait." He looks at Hana. "But if it takes too long, you and I and anyone else who wants will go the hard way, and if we fail, then the others can go the safe way."

[Terri Nutkins]

Terri simply nods in agreement with Hana as the Darkling looked to her for support but didn't air her views. She'd already done that and didn't wish to change her mind twice in as many minutes.

[Tally Benoit]

Tally sighs, nodding in understanding of the fact that they could encounter Hobs within the dream itself. She just didn't want to encounter Hobs outside of the dream on their way in as they might be too tired to be of any real help to Yata. She is pleased that Al is willing to wait a day to see if they could take the safe route, after all, they should have some mental time to prepare, like having a good nights rest so they are mentally energized to go on this journey. A hot meal wouldn't hurt either. The Hunterheart admtis to herself, it's been a while since her leaving the Hotel's Hollow to accompany Al and Terri to the hospital.

Hana nods at Al's words. "That's not a bad idea," she says before turning to Mr. Bates. "So can you tell us how long we would have to wait to use the safer route?"

The Wizened nods in response. "Yes, but it will take some time for me to perform the ritual." He proceeds to take out a deck of cards from one of his coat's pockets, which he begins to layout on the floor in a specific pattern. Once he finishes laying out the cards on the floor he looks up at the group. "Please be patient while I do this, it may take some time for me to accomplish the desired results."

Mr. Bates turns his attention back to the cards and then closes his eyes for a moment. Once he opens them again he begins to flip over the cards one by one slowly, repeating the process a few times. He collects the cards, shuffles them a few times and starts over.

Terri watches as Mr. Bates begins to lay out the cards, and settles herself comfortably.

"Perhaps you could tell us a little more about your sister?" Terri asks Hana. "I'm guessing the more we can understand about her, the easier it may be to navigate her dreams."

[Al-Adin]

Al-Adin nods. He might not remember everything, but Terri and Tally should, and Hana would be able to help.

[Jag]

Hana nods in response to Terri's question. "Sure. Yata is a cheerful girl, always looking for something fun to do; always looking for her next adventure," she says with a certain hint of sorrow in her voice. "Sometimes that got her into some trouble, but she never meant anyone harm."

She falls silent for a moment as she glances towards her sister.

"She has a very positive outlook on life, even after all we've been through. And she is very friendly," she adds while still looking at Yata, turning back to the group a couple of seconds later. "She has always been very trusting of people, which sometimes can become an issue as well. I guess one could say she is a bit naive, but I think part of it is that she likes to think that people are inherently good, and not the other way around..."

The patchwork girl lets her words trail off as she turns to look at her sister again.

And a shiver runs up Al-Adin spine, a shiver that he remembers well from his first meeting with her.
They say that similar people work well together, and that people that have common interests enjoy each other's company.
She's just like me. Just like me, too similar, too much the same. Why does that scare me?

[Terri Nutkins]

Once Hana had finished describing her sister, Terri moved to the edge of her chair and took the Darking's hand in her own.

"We'll save her. Just you see," she said reassuringly as a strong harvest smell flooded the room, a sure sign that in the end, everything will be alright. Terri looked to Al as she released Hana's hand, smiling. "Did you and Yata ever go bowling, Al?"
