Adona tucked the last piece of clothing into the dresser drawer and turned to survey the room. The bedroom was large, fitting her king-sized bed, large dresser, a desk, two book shelves, and a comfortable chair in the corner complete with lamp and side table. The space was large and open. She sat on the bed and looked around the room, the silence of the house wrapping around her like a cloak of darkness.

[color= #B048B5Maybe I should get a dog.[/color] She thought with a wry smile. She'd always loved dogs. Even when she was a mortal she remembered the hunting dogs her father had kept and how she'd argued with him about playing with them all the time. Of course, now a dog was probably not a possibility. Not unless she worked at getting him to like her.

The loneliness of the house crashed around her as she made her way from the bedroom to the living room. Kindred were solitary creatures, yes, but a sense of community was still required to make the ever lasting nights bearable. It was one of the few problems she had with being a member of the Dracul. The solitary nights tended to wear on a person after a while. Yes, being left alone to persue your research was nice, but the Dragons of San Fransisco were more aloof then most in her experience.

A wave of bitterness swept through her at the thought of those Kindred. None of them had stepped forward to help her when she'd gotten into trouble. They "didn't want to get involved in someone else's affairs", which is what had caused her to pack up her things and leave in the end. A covenent was suppose to be a family of sorts, or at least that is what she had been led to believe. However, San Francisco had been a bad experience for her and left a nasty taste in her mouth.

She hoped it would be different here that the community would be a little more open. Tomorrow night she would go out and see who or what she could find. Maybe even come across someone who could help her get legitimized so she could feed. That would be nice. For now though the empty night would stretch into dawn and she would sleep.

With a sigh of resignation, Adona sat down on her couch and hit the power button on the remote. The television slowly came to life and she immersed herself in the news of the local area.
