After the Eternal Court had adjourned for the evening, Chase Ankers kept his eyes trained on his fellow kindred as they slowly filed out towards the stairs. Chase was in no hurry and wished he could have had a better opportunity to speak with...

Madam Villiers was waiting patiently in the lobby area, not far from the stairway, all smiles and pleasantries as others bid her good evenings. She was a very well-mannered lady, Chase considered, eyeing her up and down as he came closer.

He was curious about her leg but it was an explanation in itself really. She walked rather dramatically on it, and vaguely wondered if it was intentional, if the whole persona was intentionally meaning for onlookers to misjudge her and let their guards down. Clever girl.

He seperated himself from the others and approached her meaningfully, to express his intention to speak with her. He bows, declining his head below the height of her own gracefully. "Madam Herald Villiers, I trust your evening has proven itself favorably? I see you are not eager to see it end and I wonder if I may assist you in extending it."

He raised his head from his bow to meet her reaction, his locks of hair dangling across his vision, framing his features and accentuating a disarming smile.

Martha smiled and nodded happily. Leaning hard on her cane she studied Chase's handsome looks again. Another happy smile to match his disarming one.

Disarm you with a smile...the killer in me is the killer in you...send this smile over to you... she recalled the lyrics and nodded to Chase by way of reply. Almost wishing to break out into the song.

She giggled briefly as she resisted the moment of temptation.

"Yes, thank you, Mr Ankers! My evening has proven more on the side of profit than loss: for that I am grateful!" another happy smile as she leans harder on her cane. "I hope it was similarly profitable for you too! Though...what did you have in mind by way of extension of activity, sir?" she asks, clearly all sincere in her eagerness to find out what might amuse Chase.

"Yes, quite profitable," replied Chase with sincere mirth, "And I have you to thank for that. I must admit I was unsure how different kindred society would be between cities, if there would be trials to overcome to prove one's character. But I see that these trials are more subtle and that acknowledgment is an invitation and the real trial begins now."

He kept a respectful distance away from Lady Villiers but still close enough to tell the difference between their height. She was small next to him and he was still young enough to find it strange judging her as his superior. He reminded himself that such appearances were not to be taken lightly.

"I wonder, Madam Herald, if I might talk to you further about your connection with the Ordo Dracul. As I mentioned briefly during our meeting, I am a lowly member of the Order but I have a strong interest in becoming more. I've been told that the Order isn't the most influential of the Covenants present in Sacramento, but I believe that this may be a misinterpretation of the Dragon's secretive nature."

Martha nods and smiles as Chase talks. Finding him easy to listen to. She nods once again. "Ah, of course, sir!" she nods, noting the wisdom of his assessment of the tribulations ahead. "You are correct! Tests of all manner lay ahead of us!" she nods firmly, but with good humour still. "Time is running short with us this evening, sir. The discussion I wish to have with you about the Ordo and other matters should wait until we are further away from the danger of dawn!" a happy smile. "I should hate to be an agent of peril for you in that regard!" she takes from her riding tunic a small notebook and neatly writes her cell number upon it, offering a pen and paper for Chase to reciprocate.

"Sir, that is my cellular telephone contact number...I should wish for yours. We can arrange to meet tomorrow or the evening after to talk in more detail and depth! I leave the choice of venue to your sensible mind, sir!" she smiles. Her handwriting is neat and careful, her manner gentle as she offers the paper and pen.

Chase had paid little attention to the waning hours of the night and tensed noticeably at the thought of dawn. He agreed quickly, "I suppose in all the excitement of the evening I lost track of the time." He accepts the piece of paper gratefully, pocketing it before taking into hand the paper and pen. "I have a temporary place that I'm staying though I have an idea of where I might establish my haven. But I do carry a cell phone as well and you're free to give me a ring if you have any need of me. Most surely, though, I hope we can meet tomorrow evening to discuss these matters further." Chase neatly inks his digits on the paper and returns them to Lady Villiers. "I hope you find your way in safety to your destination. Normally I'd offer to escort you, alas I've yet to refamiliarize myself with the city and it may be presumptuous of me to even suggest it." Chase, beginning to sound flustered by the distant thoughts of sunlight and the frenzy that would surely come before it, hurried with his bows and turned to leave, "Until the night returns to us again, Madam Villiers."

Martha exchanges farewells with Chase before retiring to her Chamber and thence to the meeting with Dr Powell...
