After an uneventful patrol, Daniella found herself standing by the water again. The water soothed her, she looked into the darkened sky, remembering a painful evening back home. She never wanted to feel like that again…

Viktor…gone? She slowly shook her head; it couldn’t be true she thought. Was Seth so cruel and heartless that he would take from her the one person who brought her joy? Her mouth moved, but no sound came out as her throat got tight with emotion, she found herself looking up at Seth. Her eyes, a mixture of pain and confusion, his were pure pleasure.
“But..” she looked down, “Why?” her voice filled with pain. Seth looked at her, as if she were a curiosity at a circus, his look then shifted to dismissive.

“As your Sire and Prince I owe you no answer.” His tone turned colder than his un-beating heart. He crosses his arms in front of his broad chest and moved back to his desk and papers.

She kept her head down, eyes not really seeing anything but Viktor’s face, his smile, his eyes. She begun to lift her head, but stopped when she felt the warmth running down her cheeks. The crimson tears ran freely down her face, leaving a dark red stain behind them. She made no effort to wipe them away as she slowly stood and looked to Seth. The cold bastard didn’t even look up from his work, ignoring her as her world falls down around her. But he got what he wanted, he took her joy, her one love in this unlife, but she didn’t care anymore. He got his sick pleasure, but it didn’t matter anymore, her body wasnumb.
When she could finally move, she made her way to her room, her mind began to digest what had happened. The one man who made her feel like she mattered, like she was important was gone. Would she ever see him again? Would they find each other again? Then Viktor’s words from the night before made sense, he knew he was leaving! She had many questions, which would remain unanswered. She knew it was done, she would never see him again. She found herself standing in front of the window, looking out at the darkened grounds of the Estate, and made a vow to herself. She decided that night, with blood stains on her face, and her world crumbling around her, to never be that cruel. She looked back at her life, at being treated like dirt, like an object, like nothing, and vowed not to let it jade her, to turn her into the monster that was her Sire.
Looking into the night, she wondered if anyone would fill that void in her life the way Viktor did. Could anyone make her feel like she mattered, like she was important? Viktor had seen past her beauty and had seen how intelligent she was. Seth dismissed it, Viktor nurtured it. He would engage her in intelligent conversation. Someday, and she had many of them, she would find him. If not him, then maybe there was someone else out there meant for her. Until then, she would bare her sorrow in silence with the hope that the feeling will carry her through the rough roads ahead with strength and determination.

She looks up at the stars, thinking of how cruel fate could be; it could bring you the love of your life, only to take it away without a second thought. But he taught her fate could be kind as well, and perhaps, someday, it would fill that void in her unbeating heart. But the future was yet to be determined, and Daniella was a little afraid of what it might hold. Would it hold more pain?Or would she find strength, purpose and perhaps a touch of hope?

A sudden gust of wind brought Daniella back to the present. Looking into the dark water, Daniella smiled a sad smile, thinking of how things had changed. How her unlife could have been different had Seth not meet his final death, how she could have turned out like him. Had she kept the anger and hatred in, would she had ended up as full of hatred as he was? It had taking her these past hundred years to accept that she would never find him, that Seth had inflicted Final Death to Viktor. It brought her much sadness, but she knew it was for the best, that Fate had decided how it was going to be. That sadness and hatred toward Seth should have consumed her, but she hadn’t, she let it go and she had grown. Viktor would have been proud of who she was becoming.
