As Rook gives chase from the Hedge gate, he can feel another person with him and glancing over his shoulder, sees the Mantis-Beast, Manny, assisting, legs keeping pace with the metalflesh. He also makes out how the gate from the McDonalds has subtly affected the Briars in this region; empty burger wrappers and disgarded drink cups hanging like dewdrops from the Hedge.

However, all that is irrevelant. Ahead is their quarry and Rook gets a better look. Male, no doubt fae, very thin and gangly, his stride is long but loping giving the ex-cop the impression that he doesn't run much. His clothes seem to be that of a McDonalds staff member apart from the leather bandolier that Rook spots from the distance, a distance that the figure has been given graciously.

Foot Chase rules apply. Total Suxx required by Rook or Manny to catch their quarry is 10. The Quarry requires 12 to escape and due to headstart, begins with 3 suxx. PC characters roll first then I'll roll NPCs. Please roll once per post for now. If quarry is caught, roll Initiative immediately. Let's chase!

It takes Rook little time to catch the Wizened and as his quarry realizes this, he is already turning to fight, a glass vial very similar to the trap that swung into the metalflesh's face back in the diner is in his hand with several more packed on the bandolier across his chest.

As he follows, Otto notices that the path through the Hedge seems to have been specifically opened as a pathway, with several tracks on the ground indicating a large wheeled vehicle of some type has recently come through this way. Other than that, there is no immediate danger from the Hedge.

The Wizened reeled back, his skull shaken badly as his nose broke with a crack that echoed. Fortunately, the second fist missed and gave the Wizened room to throw the vial, which smashed across Rook's chest, burning where it landed.

Combat Ends

The punches rapidly smash into the Wizened and Rook feels more than just the changeling's nose break. He feels his ribcage spilnter under the assault, the bones force themselves through his quarry's lungs, piercing them. Without the outside support, his sternum also collapses, crushing his heart as he collapses to the floor. Blood seeps from his mouth and ruined nose as breath comes in short, ragged gasps, the pain of which lasts but a few moments before the Wizened ceases breathing altogether.
